A gorgeous winter coat is one of my favourite purchases of the season. And this year I have my eye on an oversized winter coat that will be perfect for snuggling under once temperatures drop.
I think neutral colours are always a great option for coats and while black and navy are great failsafe standbys grey is also another colour to consider this winter. It’s easy to work back with multiple looks but it’s not as heavy as black. When purchasing a coat always try and invest in one made with a good quality fabric. The Joseph Sido Short coat (above) is a great wool and cashmere blend that will last you for seasons to come, similarly the longer Burberry coat (above) is also of a similar fabrication and would also make the ideal companion this winter.
If neutrals aren’t your thing a statement coat is also a great piece to have in your wardrobe. Whether you opt for a bold colour or interesting detailing such as this Alexander McQueen coat (above) the double-breasted silhouette with tonal-brown buttons is one that will have plenty of outings during winter. It’s also unlined so is perfect for layering over chunky knits during the cooler months.
Wearing the same coat throughout winter can sometimes get a little tired so to mix it up add finishing touches such as a sleek satchel bag or embellished sunglasses.
Whatever your budget there are plenty of coats on offer this season. And there’s a style to suit every bank balance. Shop some of my favourite picks below.
