What I Wore: Festive Glitter

22nd December, 2020

I love this time of year and have always enjoyed the festivities, particularly when it comes to dressing up. It’s always been fun to spend the day with family, embrace a great outfit and add a dusting of jewellery to really amp up the festivities and embrace some Christmas cheer. I’ve been lucky enough to wear some truly beautiful pieces by French jewellery house, Chaumet this year and in particular the pieces from the Josephine collection below are some of my faves. I tend to favour delicate pieces that have a bold sensibility, and the bracelets and rings below are just that. With a sprinkling of diamonds and pearl accents, they’re feminine and striking.

I wanted to wear something light and bright and this look by Aje is the embodiment of both. The cropped top has the signature tie detail and puffed sleeves that Aje has become famed for, and the silhouette works perfectly with high waisted styles. I wanted something to contrast with the softer details of the top and tailored trousers were the ideal pairing. With a tapered silhouette and cuffed finish, it’s polished without being overly rigid, making it an ideal option for summer, and for enjoying Christmas fun.

What I wore: Birthday Sparkle

8th December, 2020

What better excuse to embrace a little extra sparkle than another trip around the sun? I decided to glam up with this Bec and Bridge dress which is just made for long Christmas lunches, parties aplenty… and birthdays. The mocha shade is a great example of how a neutral hue can be impactful — the details of course are critical in achieving this with the cut-outs and the C rings elevating this dress. I also love the drop waist design and the ruching feature which when combined, really manage to turn this look into something special.

I’m a fan of simple accessories and this mini bag by Oroton definitely ticks that box—it’s a streamlined structured design, with the gold accent making it ideal for a festive soiree. But without a doubt, it’s the light dusting of jewellery that really made this outfit. The Chaumet lariat necklace works well with the square neckline of my dress, and accompanied by the matching bangles and necklace, it helps to form a cohesive look while also adding a touch of glitz and glamour to my ensemble. And if you can’t embrace a few sparkling pieces on your birthday, when can you?

What I Wore: Golden Eagle

31st October, 2020

It was a funny day today in Sydney today with it being overcast one minute, sunny the next, then a downpour. So, choosing an outfit to wear while reporting for 7Racing at the Golden Eagle at Sydney’s Rosehill Racecourse, it was all about embracing something striking. When the weather’s like this it’s always nice to be able to wear something that’s bold and vibrant — I’ve always found about a great outfit that can really lift your mood. So, I went with this stunning Aje dress which dialed up the drama with its statement features. The bottle green shade, the one-shoulder neckline, side cut-out and voluminous puff sleeve ensured this dress was anything but ordinary, and perfect for a day reporting trackside.

I’ve worked with milliner Nerida Winter for several years and this veiled headpiece was just the right accessory to keep up the dramatic feel of this ensemble. I went for a metallic snakeskin Bulgari bag, which with its structured style really helped to balance the softer lines of the dress. Once again, I had the opportunity to wear some beautiful jewellery by Chaumet. A fine necklace, along with a delicate stack of bangles and a ring were just the right amount of bling to add some understated sparkle and finesse to my look.

What I Wore: Melbourne Cup Carnival Launch

29th October, 2020

It’s the first time in many, many years that I won’t be at Flemington for Melbourne Cup but I’m still adamant about embracing the spirit of the event from home. So I was thrilled to host the Melbourne Cup Carnival Sydney launch at Vaucluse House this week. It was one of those special events where so many wonderful women were in the same room, and I had the opportunity to interview my mum—a great day in the office!

I wanted to wear something that was quite feminine, and this printed dress by Louis Vuitton was the ideal option. Vibrant colours and a beautiful floral print were a great option on a day where the weather was quite dreary in Sydney—I always believe what you wear can really lift your spirits. What I loved most about this dress were the finishes. The pleated bib detail, and the statement cuffs and button detail elevated the dress. The A-line skirt was a nod to 60s styling and the voluminous sleeves added a touch of drama.

I managed to find the perfect headband by Ford Millinery. The various shades in the floral design picked up the different shades in the dress, linking the two pieces well. While I had the opportunity to once again wear some beautiful pieces by Chaumet. The cocktail ring was the ideal accoutrement to help finish off this look, and it also picked up the gold of my mini LV bag. When it comes to event wear, I’ve always. liked having fun with my bags and metallics are such a good way to add a little depth. Streamlined, strappy shoes by Tony Bianco helped finish off this look, adding an on-trend element to accompany the more classical elements of this ensemble.

What I Wore: The Everest

18th October, 2020

I was trackside again this weekend, this time for the world’s richest turf race, The Everest. On reporting duties for 7 Racing, I wanted to embrace something soft and feminine and this look by Fendi ticked all the boxes.

I loved the silhouette of the fitted top with peplum and the cinched in waist is a flattering detail. The padded shoulders also give it a statement feature while simultaneously giving the outfit a little edge. The matching skirt gave the ensemble continuity and the clean lines added to the polished feel of this look.

Accessories are always so important at the races and in this instance I wanted to work with the pink hue of the top and skirt so opted for a bag and headband in the same colour family. The textured headband with ruching added a playful, yet elegant touch. I also went for a top handle bag with a woven texture to complement the rest of my look. While the final finishing flourish, were some truly stunning jewels by Chaumet. The earrings, bracelet and ring, all worked together to give my outfit the sparkle that completed it.

What I Wore: Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day

10th October, 2020

A gorgeous spring day calls for a riot of colour—particularly when it comes in the form of a gorgeous Louis Vuitton dress. I was on reporting duties for 7 Racing again today at the Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day and I decided to go for something bold and vibrant. With such a striking print and eye-catching hues, it was made for a day at the races. I also loved the 60s silhouette, with the finishing details really elevating the dress. The waist belt, Peter Pan collar and blouson sleeves give the modern print, a more classic feel.

While the dress definitely does most of the heavy lifting with this look, the accessories tie it all together. I kept the Louis Vuitton thread going, opting for a diminutive lemon yellow bag and classic white pumps by the brand. While my headpiece was simple yet impactful—a crisp white padded headband by Nerida Winter.

Jewellery is always important, being the final finishing flourish. I was lucky enough to wear some beautiful pieces by Chaumet today, while an elegant man-style timepiece by Jaeger LeCoultre helped balance the soft, feminine feel of my entire ensemble.

What I Wore: All That Glitters

6th October, 2020

There’s nothing quite like being given the opportunity to play with stunning jewellery which as you can imagine made this shoot even more fun. After my recent princess experience wearing a beautiful tiara by Chaumet, I was equally as excited to wear these beautiful pieces by the French jewellery brand. And when you’re working with a generous helping of diamonds, what better dress code to adopt than black tie?

I opted to go for a glam evening look with this Camilla and Marc midi dress. The lace detail, plunging neckline and statement sleeves all work together to make for a great occasion look. While simple and elegant two-strap Giuseppe Zanotti heels add a sleek touch. But what truly elevates this ensemble is being able to accessorise with a whole lot of sparkle.

These pieces from the Josephine collection are so delicate but also have a boldness to them that makes them truly standout pieces. I went all out and wore a necklace and accompanying bracelet, earrings and ring to help tie my look together and add a healthy dose of glam.

The Princess Diaries

30th September, 2020
Not your average day in the office. Wearing a beautiful Chaumet tiara and ring

In what can only be described as a surreal year, I had a definite pinch-me fashion moment recently. Having worked with the luxury jewellery house Chaumet in the past, most notably during 2018’s Melbourne Cup Carnival events, I was thrilled to work with them again this year. Not only do they produce exquisite jewellery, but it gave me the chance to play princess—if only for a brief moment.

Chaumet has a long history (since 1780 to be precise) of creating beautiful tiaras for monarchies and aristocratic families. In producing this shoot, I was given the opportunity to wear this stunning tiara from their Josephine collection. The elegant vine design, featuring diamonds is such a delicate aesthetic but has a boldness about it that makes it an undeniable statement piece—as you’d expect from a tiara!

One of the most interesting things about working with Chaumet is learning about the painstaking craftsmanship that goes into producing a single tiara. I learned that a tiara can take between 500-1500 hours of work to complete, which is around 2-6 months. This includes everything from preparing the setting, to polishing, re-cutting diamonds and finally, the final finishing touches that make a Chaumet tiara such a standout piece of jewellery. It certainly made the opportunity to shoot with this tiara even more special.

Playing princess for a day was truly a surreal moment and one that I’ll definitely be banking as a top fashion memory. Because there’s being given the opportunity to wear beautiful jewellery, but there’s something about a tiara that’s in a category unto itself. A definite little girl dream fulfilled!

What I Wore: Ladies’ Luncheon 2019

21st November, 2019

There are a number of charities I’ve been involved with but the annual Ladies’ Luncheon fundraiser for The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, organised by my friend Deborah Symond ONeil is one event that I like to get behind and look forward to attending. This year, the event raised $340,000 — much needed funds for a worthy cause that assists premature babies to survive and thrive.

A special occasion called for a special dress and I found the perfect candidate in this Camilla & Marc dress. The off-the-shoulder style is so perfect for a spring event, whilst the blouson sleeves are right on trend. The metallic colour also gave it a thoroughly modern feel, whilst the front split adds an edgy touch.

Working with metallic shades calls for simplicity which is why I opted for plain black Stuart Weitzman heels which are quite minimalist. A metallic pink Bulgari clutch added a pop of colour whilst beautiful Chaumet jewellery were the ideal finishing accoutrements.

What I Wore: 2019 Oaks Day

7th November, 2019

Oaks Day is traditionally ladies’ day so the dress code is all about soft feminine looks. It’s the perfect time to embrace my girly side, so I always have a lot of fun with my outfit on the day, favouring pretty prints and accessories.

I saw this Prada dress and thought it was perfect for the occasion. The accordion pleat skirt and the frilled bib detail is classic and polished, but the playful lip print gives it a more modern feel. It’s always fun to work a print into a race day look and I tend to gravitate towards those that are fun and have a vibrant energy.

It’s always great to designate a focal point to any outfit and in this instance it was definitely the dress. Pink and black is always a fun colour combination so I decided to accentuate the touches of pink on the dress with dark accessories. Of course, I couldn’t go past the black textured Maticevski Prometheus clutch with urchin-like beaded detail—it added a fashion forward element to my look and I love accessories that are unique looking. Black heels with knotted detail and an oversized bow worked well with the rest of my outfit. But it’s always fun to incorporate some truly beautiful jewellery into any race day look and the Chaumet bracelets I was wearing added a luxe touch to my ensemble.
