What I Wore: The Blues

9th June, 2016

KATE-W-DAMI-IM-INTERVIEW-4

The gorgeous colour of this Lover dress was the first thing that drew me to it. The blue is just so vivid. The look is quite demure with the lace detail and also the midi length skirt and elbow length sleeves so I wanted to give it a bit of edge with my caged Gianvito Rossi heels. I decided to go for contrasting shades with my accessories so I added a pop of pink with my pink The Daily Edited clutch and Christian Paul watch. Sometimes the most unexpected colour pairings make for a striking look – try it yourself today!

What I Wore: Bright White

10th May, 2016

I am all about a shift dress. I love the simplicity of the silhouette and when in a fresh colour such as crisp white it’s the ideal year-round dress (it’s also been great as a maternity dress, too). I loved the tie-side detail of this Bec and Bridge dress which gives it a slight edge to the usually more demure look of a regular shift. I’ve teamed it with my Adidas sneakers for a casual day out but it could easily be dressed up with a pair of heels for an evening event. My Christian Paul watch, Preen sunglasses and my personalised clutch from The Daily Edited are the ideal way to add a pop of colour to the neutral canvas of the dress.IMG_0441 IMG_0452

What I Wore: Wrapped up

30th March, 2016

I’ve always believed that you should be able to wear one item in multiple ways to ensure you get the most for your fashion dollar. This sleeveless trench is the perfect example of that. I have worn the trench as a dress in this instance and simply belted it to give it some shape but worn open and loose, it can easily work back with a pair of jeans and a tee. Great fabrics and textures are what enables a garment to have longevity and the lightweight linen of this trench will ensure that I can extend its wear through to the summer months. Also keeping an outfit in similar tones is often a great way to pull a look together and makes a chic, but subtle impact.

I am wearing Studio W’s sleeveless trench with my Gianvito Rossi heels,  Christian Paul watch, Triwa sunglasses and The Daily Edited clutch.

What I Wore: Shades of Grey

15th March, 2016

I’ve been getting so much mileage out of this Bec & Bridge wrap dress. Not only is it the perfect grey marle, it’s lightweight, super comfortable and it’s the kind of dress that travels easily as it’s so compact so it’s been a go-to when I’m travelling interstate. It’s also really easy to transition it from day to night just by switching up a pair of flats for heels so it ticks the versatile box, too. Also now that we’re in that trans-seasonal period between autumn and winter, it’s the ideal dress to take me through to the cooler months. Plus as an added bonus it’s the perfect maternity dress. Wrap dresses are a pregnancy staple as they can easily accomodate a growing belly so I can see myself wearing this non-stop in the coming months.

Wearing Bec & Bridge dress, Gianvito Rossi heels,  Christian Paul watch, Triwa sunglasses and The Daily Edited clutch. Scroll below to see how you can also recreate this outfit for a steal.

While I’m all about classic, neutral tones sometimes it’s feminine and fun to be able to incorporate pink hues and pretty blush colours into an outfit. If you’re not usually one to wear pink in your wardrobe these style and steal items will soon have you changing your mind.

For a splurge I can’t go past these investment items (clockwise from left):

These Roland Mouret broderie anglaise shorts are a pretty and polished with just the right amount of intricate detailing to make them stand out from the crowd.

The Chloe shoulder bag is the perfect size to fit all the essentials. The soft leather and rounded shape is sleek and polished and can easily be worn day and night which makes it the kind of splurge item that will give you bang for your fashion buck.

Is there anything more classic than a pair of pearl earrings? These gold pearl earrings are versatile to fit both an off-duty and elegant look.

The Rupert Sanderson heels are the perfect statement shoe for everything from a wedding to a cocktail party. The soft hue will mean they will work season after season plus they are handcrafted to last.

Bringing pink into your life doesn’t need to be expensive. These picks will brighten up your life, without the big price tag! (clockwise from left)

I love stylish old school pieces and this pink leather card holder is just that!

Let your accessories do the talking by opting for a pop of pink. The above Rebecca Minkoff satchel is a great way to bring colour into any outfit.

Why hide your lingerie when it’s as pretty as this soft lace bralette by Pleasure State? Super comfortable yet oh-so sexy.

What’s better than a great designer find? When it’s on sale! It would just be rude not to snap up these pastel pink Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses from The Outnet.

I have a collection of Christian Paul watches which work well with myriad outfits. The marble face on this is eye-catching and the pink band gives it a point of difference.

This dress is quite dramatic and a bit of a showstopper, however I don’t want to just save it for the occasional night out. Where’s the cost per wear in that? I think you can take a dress like this and turn it into something daytime appropriate by throwing a leather jacket on top. It’s something I would definitely consider wearing to an event like Fashion Week. Check out your own wardrobe and see how you can extend the wear of a cocktail dress by simply adding a key addition such as a jacket or blazer. Who says you can’t wear sequins during the day?

The shirt dress is quickly becoming one of my favourite items of clothing. This dress by TOME was a favourite of mine during a recent trip to Melbourne. Whilst I love the fact that it’s quite unstructured and relaxed too much volume can sometimes swamp me as I’m on the petite side which is why I decided to belt it to give it some shape. Something that’s quite loose also requires a bit of height so I decided to wear a heel with it just to elongate my shape. I also can’t get enough of mongrammed clutches! I’m quickly building up a collection as they’re so easy to mix and match with different outfits.

My new campaign with Christian Paul watches

27th October, 2015

151009-christianpaul_01_049

Watches have always been a key accessory for me and I often don’t leave the house without one. I have a collection of watches of different styles; some special ones I’ve been lucky enough to have been gifted from my family to commemorate special milestones and others I’ve collected over the years. I think you can have several different time pieces and they don’t always have to be of the expensive variety. Given my love of watches, I’m thrilled to be an ambassador and give you a sneek peek at my new campaign with Christian Paul watches. I loved working with the brand as I think their range is on-trend and well-made. The new Christian Paul range includes the Luxe Range featuring Swarovski crystal indexes, the on-trend Grid Range and the signature Marble Range, which has received a new-look enamel finish. The hard part was picking a fave! Christian Paul Director Timothy Caruana says of the brand, “Our aim has been to create unique and affordable watches that embody style, simplicity, versatility and above all quality.”

5 watch trends to look out for

Are you in the market for a new watch? Here’s what’s trending

Create your own arm parties

Match your timepieces with something simple like a bangle in a complementary gold or silver – whatever suits your personal style best.

Switch up your straps

Match your timepiece to your outfit. The great thing about Christian Paul watches is that they have interchangeable straps which means that you can have them on high rotation in your wardrobe as they can be worked back with numerous outfits simply by changing the strap.

Marble

Marble has always been a popular choice for interiors and its now become a go-to sartorial choice as well.

Grid patterns

Experience major gridlock with an on-trend grid pattern on your watch face. The clean lines make this pattern appropriate for both work and play.

Embellishment

Slight embellishments such as crystals are being seen on more watches. Austrian crystals give a watch a luxurious feel but Christian Paul has made this trend more accessible and affordable.

Pared back palette

If you’re looking for longevity you can never go wrong with a watch in a simple colour palette. The Christian Paul pastel peach and white strap colours are great for something a bit more modern while black and tan are great classic colour options.
