My go-to swimsuit brands

15th December, 2023

I’m a water baby through and through and given I spend half my time at the beach, I’m always on the hunt for a great swimsuit. I tend to go between one pieces and bikinis but over the past few summers I’ve really been getting into the one piece as it’s such an easy style to take me from day to night. I wear it to the beach and pop on a cover up of some sort whether it’s a dress, a skirt, a shirt, a pair of shorts, you name it and I can easily transition into the next activity without having to get changed.

I’m open to any and all swimsuit brands, but over the years, I have managed to develop some faves because of how great the quality is of that particular brand and also the fit is spot on. Aussie brands are at the top of my list of course, because we do swimwear so well. I will mostly opt for plain colours like black, white and khaki as I find those hues don’t date as trends change and they’re easy shades to pair back with multiple looks. That said, I sometimes end up falling in love with a print and can’t resist! Either way, I think it’s always good to experiment with different brands by trying on various pieces where possible. You may find that the cut of certain labels suit you better.

If you’re on the hunt for a new pair of swimmers this summer, these are some of my favourite go-to swimwear brands.

Bondi Born

One of my favourite Aussie brands. I’ve managed to collect a number of their styles over the years and they always bring out such interesting silhouettes and colour combinations that are always flattering. The one piece I’m wearing above is one of my current faves as I love the one shoulder style plus the monochrome colour palette.

Monte and Lou

Love a printed swimsuit for something different in my swimwear repertoire and Monte and Lou do some really fun prints. They’ve got a great core range too (even some reversible options) so there’s definitely plenty of scope to find the right style for you.

Eres

This is the kind of staple colour I like to have as a go-to basic when it comes to swimwear. This Parisian brand does some ultra chic styles and silhouettes, and lots of classic styles that will last you for many summers. It’s on the exxy side though so look out for them to go on sale on sites like Net-a-Porter.

Jets

They’ve been around for awhile, and Jets shows no signs of waning.  The above one shoulder style feels very on trend and such a great flattering look. It’s also easily transitioned from the sand to sundowners so a good style to have up your sleeve on days when you know you’re looking at plans beyond just the beach. However if you’re looking for something different there’s a healthy range of various one piece and bikini styles to suit whatever your taste.

Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Hamilton Island Race Week

15th September, 2022

It’s been a few weeks since this event but I was able to rock a number of amazing spring/summer looks that I definitely wanted to share. Now’s the time to plan what you’re going to be wearing over the next few months after all. Hamilton Island Race Week is an event I look forward to every year. It’s a great time to catch up with colleagues and friends, spend time at the beautiful Qualia Resort in Hamilton Island and just appreciate island life. Here’s a look at what I packed on my trip.

This set is so much fun. I am really loving how the range of beach/pool cover ups has been really stepped up over the past few years. Matching sets are such a practical thing to bring on a trip as they always look polished but are so easy to wear as separates. This shirt and shorts set by Eres worked perfectly with the strapless khaki swimsuit, which is one of my fave things to do whenever I’m holidaying somewhere warm. A one piece can double as a bodysuit when it’s not doing swimsuit duty and I love that it means one less thing to pack. These vibrant yellow slides added a pop of colour and a fun element to this look.

Out for drinks and catching up with Mode Sportif founder Deborah Symond O’Neil. I have become such a huge fan of the brand Sir the Label, as they do such beautiful polished and understated pieces. I love the graphic elements on this chocolate brown set as it really allows the look to pop. I paired it with white Aje heels and statement earrings, for a vibrant event look.

I wore this to a Paspaley lunch where the dress code was white and think it fit the brief quite well! I’m always a fan of an all white look as it always looks so fresh and polished. This set is also by Sir the Label (I told you I was a fan) and loved the unexpected pairing of a wrap top with a maxi skirt. My Aje heels got another workout, and a cute Apede Mod bag which is something I’ve found to work so easily with so many different looks.

1st March, 2019

It’s time to officially farewell summer and say hello to autumn but that doesn’t mean I’m not trying to squeeze in a few last summery purchases. That said it’s the also the perfect time to start prepping my new season wardrobe. I’m embracing warm, earthy tones of tan and beige along with vibrant shades of burgundy and red. If you’re on the hunt for some great new pieces, check out my wish list for a little inspo…

I like changing up phone cases and this one is a beautifully sleek design.

Sandro Lila belt

Statement belts are always a great way to elevate a look especially in such a bold shade.

Nina Armando Taylor shoe

This is a great shoe that will help lift an outfit by adding a bright pop of colour.

Paloma Barcelo Auriane wedges

I always gravitate towards wedges as they’re the ideal shoe for wearing to events like the polo or the races where I don’t want to be sinking in grass with stilettos!

Maggie Marilyn Far Far Away sweater

The simple design and colour palette of this sweater makes it the ideal versatile piece for the cooler months.

Eugenia Kim Mallory silk hair tie

Scrunchies are having a moment and this is a fun option that’s both decorative and functional.

Rebecca Vallance Harlow mini dress

How cute is this dress? Love the shape and the colour and I can see myself getting plenty of wear out of this.

Rejina Pyo wide leg chambray pants

This chic pair of wide leg pants has an effortless vibe that I really like.

Eres metallic trimmed swimsuit

A totally glam swimsuit option I know, but how gorgeous is the gold detail?

Johanna Ortiz gold toned earrings

I can see myself wearing this to multiple occasions. It’s just the right design to be versatile but interesting enough to stand out.

Ray Ban Clubmaster tortoiseshell sunglasses

A classic shape and brand, these glasses are perfect for weekends spent relaxing and enjoying the sun.
