I’ve always been a big believer in the power of great, statement accessories. A pair of statement earrings? I’m all over it. Statement shoes? Card carrying member of the fan club. And my latest obsession? Bold statement belts. And whilst there’s obviously plenty of amazing options out there at varying price points I think there’s just something about designer belts that make them that little bit special and an investment piece worth considering. Not only are the designs fashion forward, the craftsmanship is amazing and they’re guaranteed to have longevity.
I’ve found belts to be the underutilised accessories of our wardrobe. We’ll often turn to them to perform the obvious practical purpose of ensuring our pants stay up(!) however they’re not always the first thing we look at when considering a great finishing touch to an outfit. Case in point: I recently went away and wore the below outfit to travel in. I was wearing a plain white tee and simple denim shorts and sneakers but the addition of my pearl studded Gucci belt helped bring the entire look together and gave my otherwise casual ensemble a touch of glam. The upside of belts too, is that they can easily work back with so many different looks so if you splurge on just one, you can ensure you maximise its cost per wear.
