The one colour I can’t get enough of (and you’ll be seeing it everywhere)

22nd September, 2018

Judging by the Emmys this week there’s definitely one colour to watch out for this season: pink. With everyone from actress and comedian Tracee Ellis Ross in a delightful voluminous fuchshia Valentino couture creation to Best Supporting Actress winner Thandie Newton in a bubblegum pink Brandon Maxwell column gown it was certainly front and centre on the red carpet.

From hot pink to dusty rose and the softest baby pink pastels there’s something fresh about this hugely popular colour. Celebrities from Victoria Beckham to Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett have all been spotted wearing the distinctive hue, and a roll call of top designers such as Valentino, Chanel and Gucci have all sent the shade down the runway.

So if you’d relegated pink to Barbies and kids’ wardrobe then think again because it’s going to be the colour to embrace this season. And the beauty of it is that there’s a shade of pink to suit everyone making it a statement hue that’s extremely easy to wear. Because whether it’s a summer dress, a bag or in the form of a sprinkling of accessories, wearing this shade is all about embracing your feminine side, and wearing it loud and proud.

I’ve worn pink several times over the last few months and it’s quickly becoming one of my go-to shades. It’s ultra wearable, a refreshing change from my neutral faves and it’s flattering too. And whilst once it may have been thought of as saccharine hue it’s now anything but. Bold, striking and powerful, I think there’s definitely something to be said for channelling your inner Elle Woods and having a pink moment.
