Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Dusty Rose

17th July, 2018

When the perfect colour just jumps out at you and you know you have to wear it… that’s exactly what happened when I saw this top and skirt by Maggie Marilyn. With the off-the-shoulder style taking centre stage the last few seasons this ruched top with its asymmetric neckline and butterfly sleeve seemed so fresh and different. It had a quiet understated polish that I really loved whilst still maintaining just a small hint of sexiness with a flash of skin. The skirt with its wrap detail helped give the outfit some depth, and added an element of drama that provided the perfect counterpoint to the ultra feminine feel of the top.

I really didn’t want to overshadow the rose hue of this ensemble so I made a point of keeping all my accessories in a neutral colour palette. My round frame sunglasses added a playful touch to the classic feel of the top and skirt. Meanwhile I knew I wanted to add a dramatic flair with my choice of shoes┬áso it seemed fitting to incorporate my tie-up Aquazzura heels. They added just the right amount of edge to this look, helping to toughen up a look that’s sweet and soft. After all, my motto when it comes to how I dress is all about balance. That and when you see something in the perfect colour make sure you don’t pass it up.
