What I Wore: Clean Lines

27th June, 2020

One of the things I love about 90s dressing is without a doubt the slip dress. I always associate them with Kate Moss, who rocked one in various forms throughout the 90s, and always looked effortless and cool. So, I was thoroughly on board with this particular dress by Auteur. The brand created by Aussie model and photographer Lucinda Taffs, has several pieces I immediately loved and one of them was this dress. The simplicity and clean lines make it so utterly wearable, while the midi length and the taupe shade make it versatile.

I needed a little hit of colour to give the neutral shade of the dress a little spark and decided on a baby blue coat, also by Auteur. It’s a great pairing, as the dress is the perfect canvas to offset with a pop of a pretty pastel shade.

I wanted modern accessories with a little edge given the style of the dress is so simple. It was the perfect look to pair with my Bottega Veneta heels, which are also in a similar colour family to the dress, while the mesh and chain detail give it added interest. My crisp white Bulgari Serpenti is the ideal piece to punctuate this look as it adds a classic and elegant touch.
