Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Dare to Bare

21st December, 2021

I’d have to say that one of my favourite things about summer dressing is being able to rock a beautiful summer dress. Mini, midi or maxi, I’m all about them as they’re so easy to wear and can work for myriad occasions. If I was going to pick a certain style for the season, I’d have to say it’s a tie between a cut-out dress or a puff sleeve style. The cut-out has been around for awhile now and it shows no signs of waning. This Bec and Bridge dress is such a great option for balmy days. Anything in a crisp white is perfect for days spent enjoying the sunshine, and the shirt style is flattering and looks smart. The cut-out detail adds a modern flair and a playful touch.

In my line of work I tend to wear a lot of heels which are beautiful but also let’s face it, rather uncomfortable. I love wearing heels but in my down time I’m in flats all the way. I have recently been introduced to Bared, which is a range of on trend footwear designed by a podiatrist and I have to say, without any exaggeration they’re so, so comfy. This braided style caught my eye as I loved the texture, and in black, I could see it working back with a number of outfits. (It also comes in off white and tan in case black isn’t your thing.) There’s something about a monochrome look that’s always so eternally stylish, and I always revert back to that colour palette when I want an outfit that’s guaranteed to look polished.

Basket bags are one of the must-haves of summer and this Poolside top handle style is the ideal shape and size to accessorise many a look. I’ve worn this out and about running errands, along with events and it so easily fits both scenarios. Versatility is always high on my priority list and this bag is such a great example of a piece that’s wearable and versatile. It’s definitely going to see many more outings over the coming months.
