Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: I Want Candy

4th February, 2021

This was a case of letting one hue inspire a look and in this instance it was a beautiful hit of pink. I loved this Nackiye top from The Outnet as it was just so vibrant—both in colour and style. I loved the dramatic effect of the puff sleeves and the elegance of the boat neck, plus it was just the most perfect shade of candy pink. So pretty.

I wanted to further dial up the colour and this skirt by Nicholas the Label was just the right piece. The multi-hued watercolour print adds such an eye-catching element to the skirt while the fluted bottom and the split style are both style features that really make this skirt quite a different and fun. I’m always on the hunt for great finishing touches and the oversized button was the perfect detail.

Putting the final touches to an outfit is always one of the most fun aspects of styling for me as it allows me to play with texture, shape and silhouettes. I wanted to carry on the pink theme so it was this metallic Bottega Veneta pyramid bag that won in the end. It’s always the kind of pieces that’s a conversation-starter and I like the fact it’s not run-of-the-mill. And to show my further love of Bottega Veneta (how good is the brand right now?) I capped off this look with white pumps from the brand. It allowed the colour to really stand out, but both pieces were able to hold their own too.
