Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Sneaking Around

30th March, 2022

If there’s one thing I’m thankful for it’s the fact sneakers have become such a bonafide fashion staple. I love the fact I’m able to be in sneakers most days and can pair them with virtually everything in my wardrobe. While white sneakers are always a core piece of my outfit repertoire, I do love incorporating more fun styles into my closet. Case in point: this purple and orange pair from Tod’s! They’re a great shoe to add a little injection of colour into any look and is such a playful statement piece. One of my favourite combinations is a sneaker with a dress, it’s feminine and utilitarian all at the same time plus it’s the perfect look for a busy mum on the go.

I’ve got a healthy range of dresses in my closet as I love them so much but the one style I can guarantee works for myriad occasions is a shirt dress. I like this particular style by Acler as it features an A-line skirt and the silhouette makes the dress feel a little more playful. I wore this during the day but it’s a versatile piece that can work beyond that. I could easily pair this dress with heels for night and it’s the perfect look for an occasion.

Accessorising this look was all about adding some statement pieces to work against the pared back colour palette of the dress. What better option than this timeless Tod’s top handle bag. The punchy red really helps to lift this look, and the structured style makes it such an elegant piece that is versatile enough to work back with other things in my closet. I’m never without a pair of sunglasses and this pair by Poppy Lissiman has such a modern, almost futuristic silhouette that is helps to cut through the softer, more feminine aspects of this look.
