What I Wore: These boots are made for walkin’

14th December, 2021

Yes, it’s summer, but who cares about seasons with boots this great? I’ve always been a fan of Louis Vuitton’s shoe range (I have a pair of monogrammed boots from the brand that I wear often) and this pair is right up there. The motorcycle boot silhouette paired with a chunky heel and buckled toe, not to mention the monogrammed zipper all come together for boots that are made for walkin’ and then some! I’ve already bookmarked these boots for a number of different looks. Given the current trend towards pairing a boot with slightly more feminine styles, I can definitely see myself pairing this with everything from dresses to skirts this season and beyond. Can we also talk about this monochrome dress from LV’s collaboration with the artist Fornasetti? You can always rely on anything LV to be bold, strong and with the ability to make a statement and this dress is just that. With the striking coin print, the mini hemline and the modern silhouette, it’s definitely a look that has presence. I also love the checkerboard pattern, a nod to LV’s classic damier print.

When working with a look such as this, where each piece embraces a certain level of boldness, it’s all about keeping my accessories to a minimum. So it was all about a pair of classic black sunnies and my usual fave jewellery pieces. I wanted my accoutrements to complement the look rather than take over. And when you’re working with such a fierce look and boots, why would you want them to?
