What I wore this week

7th April, 2022

Another busy week meant a range of looks. I’m often juggling work events with school pick up so I try to keep that in mind whenever I’m pulling a look together as I don’t want to be overly dressed up to fetch the girls! Luckily, a lot of my wardrobe is quite simple and classic so sometimes all it takes is a shoe change here and there to make it ready for the transition into mum mode. Most of the time it’s all about a great pair of jeans and a nice top, matched with comfy shoes. While I love dressing up, I do enjoy the simplicity of my casual looks. Here’s what I wore this week…

Sometimes all you need is a pop of colour. This all white ensemble (rest assured I wasn’t on mum duty as the kids were at school!) had a fresh feel to it, enhanced by the corset top and wide leg silhouette of the pants. I knew I needed to enhance the look a little so it was all about this sky blue Acler trench. The addition of a bright hue actually allowed the features of this outfit to stand out as it provided a little contrast. I added a navy Bulgari bag to keep the look within the same colour family, and achieve a gradient effect.

I do an interation of this combination most weeks, this week it was all about a tailored shirt and denim. I love the billowy sleeves of this top which works well against the fitted silhouette of the jeans. While I accessorised with a forest green Dior tote bag to primarily carry all my essentials but also to add an accent colour to work against the more muted colour palette of the shirt and jeans. I added neutral Gucci slides to help tie the look together.

Told you I loved this combo! This time around, same jeans but with a different top. This Good American muscle tee with shoulder pads elevates my usual white tee option and gives it a more fashion-y spin. My ever reliable Ducie sandals and Dior tote were the perfect accessories for the day as they were both on trend yet functional. Banbe sunglasses from my friend and stylist Jess Pecoraro’s collaboration with the brand were the ideal frames to work back with this pared back ensemble.

Think pink! I love a good suit, and this look from Manning Cartell is a lot of fun. I wore the double breasted jacket done up so I could wear it almost as a top, while the bubblegum pink hue makes a statement. Meanwhile the neutral Burberry bag and heels allow the suit to take centre stage. Both are great pieces to have in my closet as they’re so easy to pair with multiple looks.
