Fashion, What I Wore

What I wore this week

22nd June, 2023

The temperatures have well and truly dipped in Sydney so it has given me the perfect reason to bring out a few of my favourite winter staples. There’s nothing I love more than layering cosy separates, and this season I’ve got some very wearable pieces that are on trend, but also do the job of keeping my very snug and warm when I’m out and about. That said, there have also been some events on the cards, so I’ve had the opportunity to get frocked up and wear some great dresses. Here’s what I wore this week.

This teddy coat by Aje is honestly the next best thing to roaming the streets with a blanket wrapped around me. It’s so cosy and warm! I love that it’s a long length style too, which ticks the on trend box, but also manages to insulate me from the chilly weather. Plus it gives great texture and the colour is so easy to pair back with multiple outfits. I popped on a pretty simple outfit underneath – a grey jumper and jeans, but the coat really adds a little extra oomph. These D.O.F sneakers are a few years’ old but they have managed to remain current in their style and silhouette which is always a tick for me.

Where would I be without Aje for their never ending supply of great dresses? This particular midi dress is made from a thick ribbed fabric which I found to maintain a really flattering shape, while the frills add a little extra to a simple and sleek design. It’s what I’d imagine an LBD inspired by the dancing senorita emoji would look like!

I’ve got a lot of preppy pieces from Ralph Lauren so this dress is a bit of a departure from that. However, how great is it? Love the navy as a great alternative to a traditional black dress, while the deep V-neck and cut outs add a glam, contemporary touch to such a simple silhouette. Also, this croissant shaped bag feels very on trend right now so it definitely had to accompany me.

Blazers are getting quite the workout in my outfit rotations these days. This oatmeal/grey blazer is a little oversized which feels very modern in its silhouette. It’s such an easy colour to work back with everything and I like that it makes the outfit feel a little less formal compared to a jacket in a darker colour. I popped this blazer on over a simple tank, and worked it back with white straight leg jeans which are my new favourite thing. It’s such a great cut and so versatile. My D.O.F sneakers made another appearance, while my green Dior Book bag added a touch of colour.
