Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Tickled Pink

1st March, 2022

It’s the first day of autumn but I’m reminiscing about sunny, warmer days such as when I shot this particular look by Esther & Co. This dress, with its vibrant flush of pink is the perfect mood lifter— I’ve always found wearing colour to have that powerful effect and it’s something I do when I want to feel energised. If you’ve never tried it, I highly recommend reaching for the loudest thing in your closet as it will brighten up your day. I tend to gravitate towards puff sleeves and midi lengths as there’s just something about playing with volume and hemlines that has a flattering effect. I also like the subtle cut out on this dress, which is a playful design feature, particularly at the back.

I wanted to keep this look quite polished so I opted for a pair of Chanel slingback flats, which never fail to elevate any outfit I pair them with. I also think it’s an unexpected shoe for this particular dress style, and adds an interesting twist. I wanted to add a slightly more relaxed accessory into the mix so I went for an oldie but a goodie, this raffia We Are Poolside bag. The structured silhouette combined with the earthy material makes it a piece that is chic yet has a slightly more grounded feel, helping to balance out this light and airy ensemble.
