Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Touch of Tweed

9th March, 2021

I’ve been looking forward to autumn to start embracing richer hues, and heavier textures into my wardrobe again. This tweed co-ord set from Sheike was the perfect place to start. Going into transseasonal weather, it’s not yet chilly enough to completely layer up, but it’s also starting to become cooler, so fabrics such as wool and tweed are a welcome addition to my outfit repertoire. An all black look can sometimes look a little flat, so I love the splashes of colour in the top and skirt, while the texture adds a little more depth to this ensemble. The great thing about co-ord sets is that they can also be worn as separates, and this skirt could easily work with a tee or a shirt, while the crop would work beautifully with a high waisted pant or jeans.

I wanted to keep this look quite casual so I opted for a pair of sandals to help temper the dressiness of the set. It provides a modern contrast to the classic look of tweed and takes it in a more playful direction. While a white chain strap bag adds an elegant finish. To complete this look, I went for Rayban sunglasses—the streamlined silhouette is the kind of unfussy frame that works well with a look that’s very textured, and adds a cool element to such a polished outfit.
