Spring has sprung which means it’s time to refresh your wardrobe for the new season. Shopping for spring/summer pieces has to be one of my favourite things to do because who can resist floaty dresses, punchy accessories and statement pieces that are designed for welcoming the warm weather and balmy nights ahead. The great thing is there are some great buys that will add a fun touch to your looks, and they won’t break bank either. It’s always fun to do the edit for this post as it demonstrates that with a little time, some strategic shopping and perseverance you can totally update your look and it doesn’t have to cost you a fortune.

This dress is marked as a beach dress but it’s such a cute style why would you just save it for just that one occasion? It’s a great colour and the shirred bodice and ruffles are adorable.

Pops of colour are made for spring. Brighten up your looks with vibrant shades to make a statement. Buy this dress now and bookmark it for a night out.

How cool is this design? Love the chunky wedge but the chain ankle strap makes it feel modern and fresh. This would most definitely work for many an occasion and instantly update an outfit.

Crisp white tops are perfect for spring. This style is ridiculously affordable and the crossbody silhouette and just the right amount of sheerness makes it the ideal pairing for everything from denim to your favourite skirt or pants.

Little details can truly elevate a simple piece. The rainbow shirring on this top is so much fun. It would add a subtle hit of colour to any look and the style with its puff sleeves is just the perfect on trend piece to take you through the next few months.

Don’t have a pair of white shorts in your closet? Rectify that immediately. These would go with absolutely everything and work for myriad occasions. Wear it to the beach one minute or dress it up for drinks with the girls the next.

This is one of those staple pieces that you’ll no doubt wear multiple times throughout spring/summer. It’s perfect for dressing down with sandals or dressing it up with heels.

I can attest to the versatility of a gold medallion necklace because I wear mine all the time. This is such an affordable piece and would work well in adding an understated yet stylish touch to almost any outfit.

Sunglasses are one of the easiest ways to update a new season wardrobe. Love the flat top and tortoiseshell combination—a majorly on trend piece at a seriously good price.

Gold earrings are one of my failsafe accessory options when it comes to dressing up an ensemble. These are an interesting shape and would quickly become a go-to when you want to finesse a simple outfit.

It’s always so great to be able to do this round-up and uncover all the stylish, affordable fashion buys out there. We’re still in the midst of winter dressing so I’ve made sure to include some cosy pieces to snuggle up in, along with statement knits that are guaranteed to add a lift to any look. Plus there are some luxe for less accessories that are going to add some polish and personality to an outfit. Here are some of the best buys under $100 this month.

These Gucci-esque loafers are always a great option for comfortable yet elevated footwear. A few great flats are always a staple of any wardrobe, and when you can find a pair as affordable as this, it would be remiss of you not to snap them up.

Turning up the colour when it comes to winter looks is one of the best ways to turn a tired outfit into something you’ll want to put on. A cardi such as this, with its vibrant injections of colour is just the thing to put a pep in your step.

I love the versatility of a jumper like this—the grey colour is something that will go with virtually anything while the shape and the simple buttons are understated enough to enable this piece to work back with so many different outfits.

In case you’ve missed the memo, beige is back! And this affordable sweater is one way to dip your toe into the trend and have a new go-to in your closet that’s guaranteed to play nicely with myriad outfits.

Ever since I introduced a chunky gold chain into my life, I haven’t stopped accessorising with it. It’s a unexpectedly versatile piece and can turn even the most casual of outfits into something more. Plus when it’s this affordable how could you not?

Loungewear is still always on my shopping list as it’s something that’s always in high demand in my wardrobe. These tracksuit pants from Assembly Label are equal parts comfortable and on trend.

Love this drop shoulder striped top for its oh-so perfect shape and the classic pattern. If you want a failsafe top to add to your collection, you should definitely try this design.

Great colour, perfect sleeve and the kind of jumper that will look a dream when paired with denim. And it’s on sale too so run don’t walk!

Bubblegum pink perfection is always hard to say no to, and when it features in a cardi like this, well, it’s simply a no-brainer. Pop this on over denim, with dresses, with your fave skirt… the list is endless.

I’ve found statement earrings to be one of the easiest ways to dress up a look and this pair comes in at the right price, and the design is spot on.

Compiling the edit for this post is always so much fun because it’s seriously great to see how many really on trend, versatile pieces are out there for under $100. I think that no matter your budget, there’s always a way to update your wardrobe with great, affordable pieces. I think a high-low mix is always the key to cultivate a look that’s all your own and the best part is, you don’t have to break the bank to do it.

Love a matching loungewear set for a day spent at home and this one is perfect — great colour, price and most of all it looks utterly comfy. Bookmark this look for your next Netflix session.

A cable knit turtleneck jumper is one of those things that I just love during winter as it’s such a polished piece to pair with more casual pieces like jeans or a cropped pant. You can’t go wrong with a neutral hue like this because it goes with virtually anything.

I had to share these jeans because as someone who is petite, I am forever trying to find jeans that are just the right length. So when you find a good pair, in a great wash made for a more diminutive stature, it’s important to alert everyone to them!

Elastics are usually relegated to the bottom of most gym bags, but not these vibrant elastics by The Upside. They’re a playful touch to a workout look and so much more fun than the regular kind.

Great frames are a staple of any look for me and these are just the thing to add a pop of colour to an outfit and give them a little extra touch of attitude.

‘Tis the season for stocking up on cold weather essentials and a great beanie should be one of them. This is made of cashmere which makes it just that much more luxe.

I love the Camilla and Marc range of tees as they’re super sleek and simple in design which makes them great for mixing and matching. You can’t go wrong with a classic monochrome palette like this.

I am really loving statement earrings at the moment and have found to be a really easy way to update existing looks. This pair is so on trend, yet has a classic vibe to them that will allow you to wear them beyond this season.

Supergas are one of those sneakers that you just can’t go wrong with. What I love about this pair are the rainbow eyelets — such a fun touch and they give a classic pair of white sneakers some extra personality.

These trackies come in a range of different colours, so if you want some inexpensive loungewear updates, this is one to consider. A tapered style is really great as it looks a bit more ‘fashion’.

While the height of sale time has come and gone, it doesn’t mean there aren’t any great buys to be found right now. It’s always fun to pulling together this edit because there are so many affordable finds to be found. In fact, this month I’ve rounded up various finds (including one super luxe beauty find) that will certainly brighten up your month.

Love the crossback feature of this dress. The simplicity of this style means it’s easily reworked in different looks with a quick change in accessories. All that and at under $100 too.

Le Specs are one of my fave sunglasses brands simply because they have such a great range at such a good price point. I’m really loving this style with its tortoiseshell frame and oval shape making it a classic piece to finish off any outfit.

Ah Byredo. They do such beautiful products, from candles to lotions. And if your hands are currently taking a beating from all the handwashing you’re doing, then definitely add this cream to cart. It’s a great scent and feels like such a special treat every time you use it.

A flattering kimono style dress at an affordable price. Love the crisp white colour and the ultra feminine silhouette. This would be great paired with flats or a dainty sandal.

You can’t tell here but this skirt has a delicate plisse finish which makes it worth it for that alone. Love the polka dot print, and the monochrome makes it super versatile.

This little playsuit is perfect for the beach or a casual outing. Just pair it with some slides and you’re set.

Who doesn’t love a pretty (and affordable) floral dress? There’s lots to love here: the sweetheart neckline, subtle puff sleeve and the simple and elegant print.

It’s all about Bottega Veneta right now and this is a close dupe to their quilted leather mules. This chocolate shade is such a great one to add depth to any dressy look, and it’s a versatile hue too.

Simple espadrille slides are a summer staple and this pair with its crossover straps is a fun addition to a beach look.

Red and pink is such a vibrant and fun colour combination, and when you throw a polka dot print in the mix you’ve got yourself a winner. This slip dress style is the kind of thing that’s made for a night of dinner and drinks.

Square neck tops are definitely having a moment, and this dusty pink style with its keyhole feature is the kind of thing that can instantly update a look and give it an on-trend feel.

Espadrilles. They’re a summer staple year after year, and such a comfy alternative to heels. Also, you can bookmark them for the days when (hopefully in the not too distant future) you may just find yourself navigating cobblestoned streets during a European summer.

One of the building blocks of any wardrobe, now is a good a time as any to stock up on a white tank. The square neck is very now and oh-so flattering too.

These Arizona Love sandals have become Insta-famous, and now is your chance to snap them up for a reduced price. They’re also so ridiculously comfortable, you’ll wonder how you ever survive without them.

Thongs have quietly made a comeback when it comes to polished casual wear and this style is the ideal one to have — they’re polished and understated, making them easy to pair back with so many different looks.

A quick whip around a few of my fave shopping haunts has unearthed so many great buys. I definitely think there’s plenty to add to cart this month, particularly pieces that will work well for spring next month. So if you’re in the mood for a fashion fix, here are a few that are worth checking out.

I fell in love with the old school packaging of these lip salves. They’re such a handy size and I think it’s always great to have a few of these on hand to have at home, in one’s bag and at work.

This jacket is lightweight and a great option to have when battling trans-seasonal weather. I like the tie around the waist which always gives a flattering fit.

A great print and a smart addition to any work or smart casual look. It’s also the kind of jacket that’s handy to have around when you’re faced with a last minute Zoom call and need to quickly look polished.

Simple minimalist slides are always a welcome option to any spring/summer wardrobe. I love that these are a metallic as they’re still easily mixed and matched but add a pop of colour to a look.

Add a touch of cuteness to any ensemble by accessorising with this headband. So great for making an outfit feel dressy and more put together.

Hats are a must, particularly during summer, so why not snap up this beauty just in time for the warmer weather to arrive. It’s such a classic style and can easily worn everywhere from the beach right through to brunch.

Statement earrings are a shortcut to livening up many a look and the jade hue gives it an elegant and vibrant feel.

A beautiful clutch that has a slightly more relaxed vibe is such a great thing to have in you closet. It’s perfect for day time events, but can also turn a casual ensemble into something a little more polished.

A crisp white dress is always a good idea. And this one is such a bargain it would be criminal not to snap it up!

One of my favourite hues to work with is varying shades of pink. This blush hued number is so great for pairing with jeans to add a feminine touch.

Chain store round-up: 10 great buys to add to cart

3rd July, 2020

While designer buys are great, most of the time it’s all about finding pieces that are affordable and fashionable. And I firmly believe we’ve got such a great range of brands on offer in Australia that it’s quite easy to snap up something new to revamp a tired wardrobe without having to spend big. Chain store buys are often the building blocks of many wardrobes for good reason: they’re on trend, affordable and offer plenty of choice.

This is why this is the first instalment of regular round-ups I’ll be doing of what’s on offer in popular chain stores. I’m planning to highlight all the great pieces that are definitely worth adding to cart right now whether it’s a basic that can work back with multiple items or a statement piece to make a simple outfit shine.

If you’re in the mood for a wardrobe update but don’t want to spend a fortune, you’ve come to the right place. There are some truly great offerings in chain stores right now which are on trend, stylish and reasonably priced. Having perused what’s on offer, here are a few options that will instantly lift your winter wardrobe, but won’t break the budget either.

This beige Country Road wool skirt is such a good staple to have. Worn with boots, it’s perfect for winter and a great alternative to pants. But it’s also easily worn with a tee or cami in summer making it easily do double duty.

I always like to look ahead to the upcoming season and this is the perfect dress to wear into spring/summer. It also comes in another colour if white isn’t your thing. And billowy sleeves are such a great feature to really lift the look of a dress.

A slouchy navy knit can never go astray in one’s winter wardrobe. Love the shape of this and it’s the ideal colour to work back with multiple pieces. Such a great, versatile piece.

I’ve spoken of straight leg jeans being the denim silhouette to have right now and this pair from Seed is such a great way to adopt the style. The wash is also a great way to freshen up a winter look.

This bobble knit is such a pretty winter warmer. Love the ribbed cuffs and the fact it can also be worn slightly cropped with high waisted jeans. The earthy tone is also one of the big colours of the season, making it a versatile staple to have.

I love the practicality of this reversible coat from Seed. One side is a beautiful plain camel colour, the other a statement check. Both are great for winter and is such a good buy considering you get two coats in one.

A great shirt never goes astray particularly in winter and this black shirt from Cotton On could easily pass for a lightweight jacket which essentially doubles its use. You could easily pair it with jeans or casual pants, or a skirt or dress further down the track.

I’m a huge fan of high waisted pants. This wide legged number would work back with so many different pieces. The fact you can wear it casually with sneaker or dress it up with flats or a great sandal gets a huge tick.

Statement dresses are a fun addition to any wardrobe and this printed number, with its long sleeves and pleated skirt make it a practical and pretty winter wardrobe purchase.

Ribbed tops are a great way to elevate basics. The hue, cut and style of this Glassons top would make it the perfect partner to a variety of different pieces, plus it’s a great price.
