What I Wore: In The Bag

One of the things I’ve always invested in when it comes to my wardrobe is quality bags. I wear them so often and are such a key accessory to every look that I will largely save up for designer pieces and splurge on them occasionally as opposed to buying lots of pieces here and there that might not have such longevity. The construction and materials used in a designer bag ensure they’re incredibly well made which means I will have them for many many years to come.

I’ve got a few favourite brands that I always come back to but I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for Bulgari’s Serpenti bags. The classic style is a great size for carrying my daily essentials and the structured design guarantees it always looks polished. One of my favourite parts is the serpent clasp. It’s a statement feature and so iconic that it really makes the bag. I was a bit daring with this option and went for white which while it requires a bit more care really does go with virtually everything in my closet. I also really like the double chain straps which adds an elegant touch.

To ensure that any designer purchases I make go the distance I always opt for permanent features of a particular brand’s range and this design has been a constant. I highly recommend this as a buying strategy as it ensures that a bag doesn’t look dated, which is what can happen with designs that are tied to a particular season. And really who wouldn’t want a beautiful bag that lasts a lifetime?

What I Wore: Mini Moment

I’m currently compiling a mental list of outfits I really want to wear once everything goes back to normal and this look is one of them. My current routine of home schooling, working from home and Netflix sessions doesn’t quite require this level of dressiness so until then, I’m remembering this shoot fondly.

This Camilla and Marc blazer-style mini dress is just the right balance of sophisticated and classic, but with a hint of playfulness that avoids it from feeling or looking too stuffy. It’s also such a versatile piece as it can easily be worn with bare legs but worked back with pants once temperatures drop. I love the textured finish from the fabrication to the detail on the pockets, and the contrasting buttons add a punchy element that allows the look to pop.

I wanted to wear simple accessories with this look and couldn’t go past my two-tone Chanel slingback flats. They’re a comfortable option for when I need a slightly more dressy shoe to go with my outfit and I’ve found them to go with so many different pieces in my wardrobe and can easily be worn with casual ensembles too. As the final finishing touch I opted for a sleek structured Gucci shoulder bag with a chain link feature. The colour makes it really versatile while the elegant design elevates it into something special.

What I Wore: Neutral Gear

Whoever said neutrals are boring never met a dress like this. This Camilla & Marc dress is a subdued hue but the sleek and elegant silhouette elevate it into something that can be worn throughout summer, making it the ideal look for warm days and balmy nights. The twisted halter neck design is sleek and adds a subtly sexy touch while the ruched back gives the dress an interesting feature but as a bonus, makes it ultra comfortable too. Also, I’m a fan of any dress with pockets (utilitarian and a great design feature) and the midi length is flattering and fun.

I wanted to wear toned down accessories with this look and something quite tonal too. So I opted for monogrammed Louis Vuitton ankle boots which has a subtle logo design so it doesn’t overwhelm the look, but a good boot helps ground the look. This look doesn’t call for fussy pieces so I went for a simple hat. Just the thing to complement this minimalist dress, and in the same colour family, it helps pull the entire look together.

What I Wore: Country Mile

I wore this look on a shoot at the beautiful Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley and fell in loved with its modern take on Victorian style. The Aje blouse (one of my fave Aussie brands right now) has a classic feel to it but with the blouson sleeves, the silhouette feels modern. Also crisp white shirts are a staple in my wardrobe so I love how this shirt taps into that versatility but still manages to give a fresh take on it.

I’m always a fan of a monochrome colour palette as it’s always guaranteed to be a chic combination so I opted to pair the shirt with white leather pants. Leather leggings also have great contemporary feel and work beautifully with everything from a white button down or a t-shirt or sweater. In keeping with the rustic feel of my surroundings, I worked a pair of riding boots into my look which provides a great contrast to the more dressy feel of my outfit.

What I Wore: Ladies’ Luncheon 2019

There are a number of charities I’ve been involved with but the annual Ladies’ Luncheon fundraiser for The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, organised by my friend Deborah Symond ONeil is one event that I like to get behind and look forward to attending. This year, the event raised $340,000 — much needed funds for a worthy cause that assists premature babies to survive and thrive.

A special occasion called for a special dress and I found the perfect candidate in this Camilla & Marc dress. The off-the-shoulder style is so perfect for a spring event, whilst the blouson sleeves are right on trend. The metallic colour also gave it a thoroughly modern feel, whilst the front split adds an edgy touch.

Working with metallic shades calls for simplicity which is why I opted for plain black Stuart Weitzman heels which are quite minimalist. A metallic pink Bulgari clutch added a pop of colour whilst beautiful Chaumet jewellery were the ideal finishing accoutrements.

What I Wore: Cherry Bomb

For reporting duties with 7 Racing I wanted something that was vibrant and feminine and couldn’t look past this beautiful cerise Camilla and Marc mini dress. The rich colour gives the frock some drama, whilst the fitted silhouette complemented by the oversized balloon sleeves, was a great contrast in proportions. Also I’m always a fan of anything with a dramatic detail and I love the open back feature of this dress and the lace panelling on the side.

With volume at play, I knew my accessories needed to be quite streamlined. I opted for minimalist black heels which subtly complemented my dress without overwhelming it. I then added a Nerida Winter headpiece—something sleek and understated whilst my Fendi top handle bag was the perfect little accessory to add a dainty touch to my entire look.

What I Wore: Sharpen Up

I’ve been after a skirt suit that’s sharp but not too dressy to take me through spring. I knew I wanted it to be the ideal go-to look for everything from a work meeting to an event so I was quite particular about the colour and shape. This neutral set by Camilla and Marc definitely fits the brief. The double breasted jacket with contrasting buttons is just the right vibe to be versatile whilst pairing it back with a skirt gives it a feminine feel.

Given the suit is quite pared back I decided to dial up the boldness of my accessories. I knew I wanted a statement bag with this ensemble so this logo Fendi tote was the ideal option. It’s just the right size to take me through the day and punchy enough with the classic Fendi Fs. I also like the fact it looks professional but still has a fashion forward feel.

When it comes to my shoes I decided on strappy Giuseppe Zanotti sandals with a crystal heel. The interesting heel really gives it a modern and glam touch. Whilst the final finishing touch was a pair of skinny Poppy Lissiman sunglasses. I found the thin profile really adds a contemporary feel to an otherwise classic look.

Without a doubt one of my favourite go-to designers is Camilla and Marc. They’re usually top of mind if I have an event to attend or I simply want some beautiful wardrobe updates that are on trend but maintain an overall classic feel. The brand’s aesthetic is always about structured silhouettes and all with elevated finishing touches, which is something that slots in really well into my style repertoire. I always feel really confident and polished whenever I’m wearing something from the label which is why I keep coming back to it. What I Wore: Daydream Island

Escaping from the cold Sydney weather to go on a family holiday to Daydream Island the past week enabled me to shed my winter woolies (even if it was just a few days) for easy breezy resort wear dressing, which I’ve always got a soft spot for.

I always try and take a tight edit of clothes whenever I’m going away so I like to take pieces that are versatile and can work for day and night. This striped shirt dress by Camilla and Marc was a great option for me as I could wear it casually whilst playing with the girls and dress it up a bit for dinner. I loved the polished feel of it and as it was so lightweight it was perfect for the warmer temperatures up north.

Slides are always my number one footwear choice whenever I’m going somewhere warm as they’re comfortable and chic and keep me cool all at the same time. I’ve been wanting to wear these Dior slides for ever so long and was glad to finally have the chance to do so.

Whilst straw bags are still going strong throughout winter they’re especially perfect for anywhere tropical so this Sparrows Weave top handle bag felt right at home around the resort. Topped off with white Emma Mulholland sunglasses, I was ready for whatever the day had in store.
