The pieces I get the most DMs about

19th February, 2023

I tend to field a fair few DMs about various things, from where I bought a particular piece from to an enquiry about something in the background of a post on Instagram. Without a doubt however there are certain things I wear that will without fail trigger a flurry of DMs asking what brand it is or where I got it from. Along with these jeans which I have already written about, there are three things that I will always have to field questions about. Here they are…

Guinea Coin Necklace

The number one thing I always get asked about in my DMs is always in my coin necklace (probably because I wear it nearly everyday). It’s a guinea coin that my dad bought at an auction and had made it into a necklace. It’s so versatile and it’s one of those pieces of jewellery that is a constant in my wardrobe, plus it has sentimental value so it’s extra special.

Cartier Juste Un Clou Bracelet

My aunt gifted me this bracelet for my 30th birthday (the nail bracelet above) and I almost always will be wearing it, much like my coin necklace. I absolutely adore it as it works really well in a wrist stack but it also stands on its own if I want to go for a more minimalist approach. If you’re ever looking for an investment piece to spoil yourself with, I would definitely consider it. All these years later and it’s still in regular rotation.

D.O.F Sneakers

I will often get messages asking about these Department of Finery (D.O.F.) sneakers. They’re called the Zara in case you’re wondering! I’ve had them for a few years and they work really well with most outfits and are ultra comfy. I like that they look a little bit sporty and are quite a different vibe to the rest of my sneakers. I’ll wear these shoes with jeans most of the time but they also pair well with dresses.

Fashion, What I Wore

What I wore this week

27th May, 2021

It’s always fun to get to play around with a few new pieces in a wardrobe rotation and this week it’s all about some fun winter purchases. I always map out what I’m going to splurge on at the start of a new season and so far, the pieces I have have been seamlessly able to work into my regular outfit repertoire. I think that’s always the sign of a good purchase! From double denim one minute to splashes of Barbie pink the next, here’s what I wore this week.

Sometimes a look is cemented on the colour alone, and that was certainly the case with this Aje suit. I was off to lunch in this number, and it certainly perked me up — how could it not with that playful made-for-Barbie pink? Also I think this is further proof that a suit doesn’t have to be exclusively the domain of classic neutrals. You can definitely afford to have a little fun with it.

With my little sidekick here, and rocking our shades of pink. I love the soft baby pink hue of this jumper as it’s so easy to match with virtually everything in my wardrobe. I paired it with some trusty denim and sneakers and I was ready to tackle my day with Grace.

Some people love it, some people hate it but I’m the first to admit that I’m quite partial to a Canadian tuxedo. This double denim look is all Camilla and Marc, and both work really well together, but also separately. I’ve been able to work these two pieces in so many different ways, which is always a big tick in my book.

My go-to uniform: a white tee and jeans. It always works without fail and I know I can rely on it on those days when I just want a no-fuss look that still looks stylish. I added a touch of colour with the emerald green Dior bag (which FYI is such a great size as it pretty much fits my entire life comfortably) and my fave sandals. I love when a look just comes together like this.

Fashion, What I Wore

What I wore working from home

6th August, 2020

It’s been a week all about comfort dressing. I wanted to power through a few things on the work front so I was all about fun pieces that are still ideal for putting in some quality time with my laptop. So jeans and jumpers were the order of the day, but with a few punchy accessories in the mix to liven things up. Here’s what I wore working from home this week.

I love this jumper because the print and colour is simply all kinds of fun. It’s a great mood lifter and works brilliantly with denim so really, I can’t ask for more. These ripped jeans by Ksubi are ideal for a desk day and add a touch of edge to any look.

A little black and white on an unseasonably warm day in Sydney. I’ve been wearing a lot of Uniqlo basics as they’re so great for mixing and matching with different looks. I paired them with Chanel sneakers to add a touch of luxe (but still very practical) and a Dion Lee skirt just to dress it up a bit.

These straight leg jeans by Aje are so comfortable and really great for providing the starting point for an outfit. I went for a classic black and red combination today with this vibrant jumper from one of my fave brands, Skin and Threads.

Whoever made tracksuits a bonafide style staple deserves a medal. I love this Camilla and Marc set because it’s high on comfort levels but and ticking a trend box all at the same time. I paired them with a neutral pair of sneakers by D.O.F to finish off the look.

What I Wore: In Check

30th June, 2020

A chilly family day out at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo on the weekend required having to rug up, so it was the perfect opportunity to snuggle up in this Rebecca Vallance checked coat. Whenever I’m opting for quite a simple outfit, I like to incorporate a statement piece to elevate it and give it a little extra personality. The print on this coat is quite striking so it was the perfect thing to pair back with the classic combination of jeans and a white top.

When I’m after an outfit that’s guaranteed to work I always opt for tried and tested formulas, in this case denim worked back with a white skivvy. This has become a go-to combination of mine during winter and when classic Levis are in the mix, it’s a time honoured fashion combination that forms the foundation for many a look in my wardrobe.

A big day of walking around is all about comfy shoes and these sneakers by D.O.F definitely ticked that box without scrimping on style. I particularly love the athletic vibe of these shoes and the fact it still has a sleek and stylish sensibility. As the final piece of this outfit puzzle, I went with white sunglasses to add a modern finishing touch, and help tie the entire look together.
