What I wore this week

7th September, 2023

It’s another week of transeasonal dressing in Sydney and while I’m loving the warmer temperatures later in the day, there’s still a little bit of a chill in the air in the morning which I have to take into account. However, since it’s warmed up a lot I have taken the opportunity though to do a soft launch of a few spring/summer looks I’m planning, and I’m already forecasting I’ll be wearing them a lot through spring. There’s just so much good fashion out there right now! Here’s what I wore this week.

Vests are really becoming a thing and I’m all for it. I like that it gives a pair of jeans a more elevated feel, and it’s so easy to work it back with other looks. Also PSA: if you’re looking for a great denim brand, I highly recommend Slvrlake. I have several pairs now and they’re all a great cut and fit in all the right places. I topped off this look with some Chanel to add some contrast pieces.

One of my fave styling tricks is when I want to dress super casual ie jeans and sneakers, I pop on a blazer on top and all of a sudden it feels put together. This Camilla and Marc blazer is just the right fit, it’s roomy enough to feel a little more relaxed yet there’s still enough structure to it when I want it to look dressy.

One of my favourite Aussie brands is Viktoria and Woods because their pieces always manage to look on trend but are always underpinned by a polished vibe. This pairing looks really cute worn together, but I’ve already bookmarked them both for spring/summer outfits I’ve got planned. For example how great would the top look with a pair of wide leg pants? They’re both a definite winner.

Credits: Top and jeans, Bayse by Elliot Garnaut; Slides (similar here), Camilla and Marc

I’ve really been loving the collab between my friend Elliot and Bayse – I’ve worn these jeans previously with a white tank, but it goes equally as well with this knit top. It’s the perfect shade of grey and it works great against the indigo colour of the jeans. I threw on a pair of shearling lined slides as they make for the perfect transeasonal shoe when the weather is still going from hot to cold during the day.

What I Wore: Winter Magic

15th August, 2023

I recently shot a collaboration with Glasshouse Candles’ new Last Run in Aspen scent and it called for a wintery look that still had a lightness and brightness to it. I love wearing whites and creams during winter as I think everything generally tends to be quite heavy when it comes to traditional cool weather colours.

When it came time to put this outfit together I decided to brighten things up, working around a great pair of white Slvrlake Jeans. This Los Angeles based brand should definitely be on your radar when it comes to denim — I have a few different silhouettes from them and I wear them year round. This pair is a great high waisted style and is juuuust the right cropped length (I find some crops tend to be a tad too short or too long on me). Also the style is a great compromise between skinny jeans (I know, we’re not allowed to wear these anymore Gen Z!) and a straight leg pair.

I live in a rotation of various knits from Aussie brands throughout winter, and the one I’m wearing here is by Assembly Label. The Ava knit style features a drop shoulder which I’ve always found to be universally flattering and feels and looks very effortless. It’s also a great creamy colour that’s easily worked back with a number of different pants and skirts.

Lastly, I adore anything featuring shearling when it comes to footwear as it does double duty in keeping my feet toasty but also adding an element of interest. These chunky slides by Camilla and Marc are the best! They’re so comfy and the extra fluffy footbed means I can get away with wearing open shoes during winter, but I can also transition them to spring.

What I wore this week

23rd February, 2023

It’s been busy getting back into the swing of things so it’s been awhile between outfit posts. However I’m back sharing a few of my fave looks of late. I’m still making the most of the warm weather, but we have been met with a chilly day or two in Sydney, so it’s been the perfect opportunity to elevate looks with the addition of a crisp blazer. I’ve also been taking the opportunity to play around with accessories, from sunglasses to statement jewellery and on trend footwear, it has been a fun week wardrobe-wise. Here’s what I wore.

Credits: Swimsuit, Bondi Born; Pants, Tory Burch; Slides, Hermes; Bag, Strathberry

I’ve had these printed Tory Burch pants for a few years and always love pulling them out in spring/summer as the print is so vibrant and fun. I tend to bring them whenever I’m on holiday because they’re a great go-to to brighten up an outfit. I decided to pair them with a black Bondi Born one piece to add a sleek touch, and yellow Hermes slides to add an extra hit of colour.

Credits: Blazer, Henne; T-shirt, Uniqlo; Jeans, Slvrlake; Shoes and bag, Chanel; Sunglasses, Bottega Veneta

There’s nothing like popping a blazer on over an otherwise casual look to add a hint of polish. This neutral blazer is a great one to have on hand as it feels light and airy for summer, but still feels very put together. Jeans and a white tee is always a classic combination and features heavily in my wardrobe rotation, while neutral Chanel Dad sandals add an on trend touch.

Credits: Blazer (similar here), Balmain; Vest and pants, Staud; Thongs, Billini; Bag, Chanel

Who says you can’t wear black during summer? I often wear this set when I want to do loungewear but with an elevated vibe. This look is supremely comfy, but popping a black blazer on over the top makes it ready for a meeting or other work appointment. Black thongs add a summery vibe, but also an on trend touch and a Chanel backpack adds a luxe touch.

Credits: Shirt and pants, Aje; Bag, Strathberry; Sunglasses, Ray Ban

I love embracing colour during summer and this set by Aje is a total winner. The bold sunflower print adds a vivid touch, but also looks playful and is perfect for sunny days. In keeping with the bright pops of colour with this co-ord set, I went with a yellow Strathberry crossbody bag to complement the hues in the print, and also keep the look cohesive by playing in the same colour family. Once again, a matching set is my go-to shortcut for making a look feel effortless yet polished.

What I wore this week

8th December, 2022

The countdown to Christmas is on, which means room for plenty of different looks with various occasions and events on the horizon. Also, I am loving that party season is well and truly in full swing. Plenty of excuses to get dolled up and embrace a festive look or two. With so much going on, I tend to favour pieces that I know will work so it takes away the guesswork with planning a look. That means tried and tested staples like blazers and blouses and suiting that I know are failsafe options. Here’s what I wore this week.

I always stock up on a few pieces from Camilla and Marc during the year and wear them to death. This belted blazer has been a fun little addition to my wardrobe as it helps to elevate simple pieces like black pants. Also, if you don’t own a pair of wide leg black pants rectify that immediately! I’ve been living in these pants ever since I got them and have been able to dress them up or down. I went with dressier accessories in this instance, but I have worn this look with sneakers also and it’s worked well too.

Credits: Blazer and pants, Camilla and Marc; Bag (similar here), Chanel; Heels, Aquazzura

Huge fan of Ralph Lauren, and I always get behind the Pink Pony campaign every year. This is a great outfit to wear when I’m relaxing or just pottering around at home as it’s comfy, but if I need to duck out for a bit it still looks put together.

Credits: Hoodie, Polo Ralph Lauren; Jeans (similar here), Slvrlake

Posting a throwback to this outfit I wore to do an interview with Stephanie Waller. I’m really into layering the same hues as I find it helps tie a look together but feels very on trend. Also I didn’t want this ensemble to look too dressy, plus I wanted to stay comfortable so I opted for white sneakers to help ground the polished nature of both pieces.

Credits: Top and pants, White Story; Sneakers (similar here), Burberry

Can’t go past a great suit, am I right? This isn’t technically a suit, but I paired a white Henne blazer with a pair of white Viktoria and Woods pants and it achieved the same effect. I’ve shared before how versatile and also how big a trend tank tops are as they’re such a great layering piece. I popped this on under a suit in this instance but have also worn it on its own with other pieces.

What I wore this week

25th August, 2022

We’ve had some really beautiful days in Sydney of late so I’ve been able to break out some fun pieces designed for warm weather. I’m really loving the little bursts of sunny days as it’s a great preview of spring — can’t wait to wear more of that part of my wardrobe. I’ve embraced some classic staples this week and some failsafe combinations, but it has also been fun to wear some statement looks featuring bold colours. Here’s what I wore this week.

Jeans and a white shirt is one of those combinations I don’t have to think about because it’s guaranteed to work every time. These jeans have been such a great addition to my wardrobe as I’ve been able to style them in so many different ways and they’re a great wash to work back with various colours. This shirt is from this year’s Witchery white shirt campaign and is the ideal fit to tuck into jeans, plus I love the pocket feature. Paired with statement earrings, it adds a touch of glam to a daytime look.

Off to an event with this all blue look. Love layering the one colour as it can be so impactful when paired together. This cobalt blue hue is so striking and great for an evening event. This blouse worn separately is the ideal piece to add a polished splash of colour to an outfit, while the pants are a ski pant design which makes them ultra comfortable. I added a bit of contrasting colour with the yellow Fendi bag and my go-to Bottega heels.

Felt like wearing some colour to an event and what better hue to embrace than sunshine yellow? This column dress by Camilla and Marc features soft, splashes of orange-y yellow so it’s perfect for spring-like weather. I also love the sleek silhouette plus paired with nude heels it achieves an elongated effect.

The cutest of tops, this Maggie Marilyn number is a real statement piece. The puff sleeves offer a striking feature and the ruching adds a flattering touch. I’ve always loved the contrasting effect of pink and white and these wide leg pants are not only a great example of a wardrobe piece that embraces understated glam, but it’s a great piece to allow the top to pop. I discovered the perfect pink shoe with these Gucci pumps so of course I had to pair them with this look.

What I wore this week

4th August, 2022

It’s still all about winter dressing but this week in Sydney we did experience what felt like a glorious spring day which was a nice reprieve from the cold weather. I’m still embracing so many winter warmers in my closet and am having fun rediscovering that part of my wardrobe again after my holiday break. I had a few appointments and meetings this week so I embraced a lot of dressy, elevated looks but luckily I was still able to incorporate some casual ensembles in the mix. Here’s what I wore this week.

Back into winter gear and loving tonal ensembles. I’ve always found layering varying shades but in a similar colour family achieves a really impactful look. I layered a few earthy pieces here and found it added some warmth to my outfit. Also, I’m not sure about you but I loved the break from constantly wearing pants or jeans throughout winter by doing a midi skirt/boots combination. I highly recommend it for keeping warm, but taking your outfit in a different direction.

Credits: Skirt, Camilla and Marc; Top, Venroy; Bag, Gucci, Boots, Seed; Coat, Karen Millen

Doing another take on the skirt/boots combination with this head to toe look from Seed. I wore this look to host an event for Seed earlier in the year and found it be a great go-to look for when I’ve got a meeting or event to attend. Once again I’m embracing tonal hues, but I also love doing crisp whites in winter. It’s a little more unexpected as far as winter hues go and it adds a level of freshness. Loving the resurgence of the knee high boot, it’s definitely a great way to dress up many an outfit.

This outfit ties into my motto of ‘off duty wear but keep it polished’. Jeans and a white shirt have always been my go-to when it comes to casual wear, but I wanted to take it up a notch so paired it with this Camilla and Marc trench. It’s comfy yet chic and something I do quite often whenever I’m doing a jeans and tee pairing throughout the cooler months. I went for a simple pair of white sneakers and added a Louis Vuitton top handle bag to help me carry all my essentials around for the day.

Credits: Trench, Camilla and Marc; T-shirt, Uniqlo; Jeans, Slvrlake; Bag, Louis Vuitton; Sneakers, Burberry;

This was a shoot day and I felt in the mood to dress up a little so went with this puff sleeve top by Aje and an Anna Quan mini. I’ve worn both pieces so many times and have really managed to maximise the cost per wear on both of them. Being on my feet most of the day, I went for flat Chanel slingbacks to stay comfortable but polished at the same time.

What I wore this week

4th February, 2022

It’s been a big week! My youngest daughter, Grace started school and there’s been a few things on the go on the work front. In between the busyness, I’ve had fun playing with some great looks, particularly bold, bright pieces that are perfect for the last month of summer, and some beautifully dainty and feminine pieces. Here’s what I wore this week.

A great blouse and jeans is one of my favourite outfit shortcuts. This embroidered Alemais blouse is always a playful option with denim, and these patent green heels add a nice splash of colour. This is further proof that if you find a good pair of jeans, you’re guaranteed to be able to create multiple looks.

There’s something about cheery colours that instantly lift my mood. This vibrant pink denim dress is just the right kind of hue to energise me for the day ahead—if I’m ever feeling flat, I always put on a bold colour and it instantly perks me up. I paired this with black Bottega Veneta heels and a pair of statement earrings to elevate it.

Credits: Dress, Acler; Heels, Bottega Veneta; Earrings, Aje

How cute is this cardigan? I love the sweet embroidery and the pastel mint combination. Wearing cardis as a top is one of my fave trends of late, and this one works well worn back with white jeans. I went for comfort in this instance with gold flats and another beautiful pastel hue, in the form of this mini baby pink Chanel bag.

I categorise jumpsuits in the same camp as dresses—an easy outfit option when you just can’t be bothered thinking of what to wear. I like the relaxed cut and high collar of this particular style, not to mention the statement sleeve. For the ultimate in comfort dressing, I wore these Proenza Schouler Birkenstocks, and my favourite Prada bucket bag, which is both practical and a chic option for daytime looks.

What I Wore This Week

27th January, 2022

I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things on the work front so it’s been a mixture of getting dressed up for those events, while also being at the tail end of the school holidays and living in my favourite casual gear. There’s a lot of new pieces I’m keen to wear and I’m excited to roll them out over the coming weeks but I also have a newfound appreciation for my go-tos. These are the pieces that I wear most of the time and are in constant rotation because of how comfortable and versatile they are. Here’s what I wore this week.

I am loving how fun suiting has become. This is one of my faves by Acler, as the cut is spot on and so flattering while the rust colour is an unexpected hue as far as suits go. This Viktoria and Woods bustier top is currently one of my faves as it’s so easy to pair with multiple pieces. I’ve been able to dress it up or down, and it looks polished each time. I finished this look with my go-to Bottega Veneta heels and a structured clutch by Oroton.

Credits: Jacket (similar here) and pants (similar here), Acler; Top, Viktoria and Woods; Bag, Oroton; Heels, Bottega Veneta

Loving this elevated casual look. This Christopher Esber top is such an interesting style with the dual rings and cut-outs, I also love the olive hue. These Slvrlake jeans have also been a great summer staple, the crisp white colour is the perfect base to pair with multiple tops and the cropped cut works well with different sandals and slides. These black flatform thongs from Rozalia Russian’s collab with Billini have been such a fun addition to my shoerobe this season, they’re ultra comfy and also give existing outfits an on trend feel.

My jeans making another appearance! I was taking the girls out to watch a show and I wanted a comfy look, so opted for a denim and shirt combination. I got this striped shirt as part of a set and I’ve worn it on its own as much as I have with the matching shorts. The red stripe adds a bold touch to an outfit and always looks polished. I’ve spent most of summer in these Proenza Schouler Birkenstocks because they’re the perfect flat shoe for when I’m on the go with the girls, and the colour goes with virtually everything.

Credits: Shirt, Venroy; Jeans, Slvrlake; Shoes, Proenza Schouler x Birkenstock; Bag, Loewe; Sunglasses, Rayban

Statement dresses are often my go-to during summer and this Rosetta Getty cut out dress has been one of my favourite new additions to my wardrobe. The neutral hue means I can pair it with a variety of different accessories, while the combination of long sleeves and cut out detail adds an interesting touch. We were heading out to dinner so I dressed it up with black heels, and the cutest shearling trimmed Jacquemus bag.

What I Wore This Week

16th December, 2021

I’m currently in school holiday mode with the girls so when it comes to my wardrobe, I’ve primarily been all about comfort when it comes to my outfits. That said I’ve also had a work thing or two that has required stepping it up a bit more. Luckily, I’ve had a few casual pieces on rotation that have made getting dressed all the more fun. Denim has obviously been a big staple, and as always, has proven to be the perfect foundation to build a look. This is especially the case now that I’m in busy mum mode juggling the kids plus the lead up to Christmas and some last minute things on the work front before the break. Here’s what I wore this week.

This corset top by Viktoria and Woods has become an unexpected wardrobe MVP. It goes with virtually anything and is super comfortable. It comes in black too and I’m seriously considering getting it too as I’ve been using the white so often. Jeans and a white top is one of my fave outfit combinations when I don’t want to fuss around too much with a look—it’s a classic for a reason! I decided to step this look up a notch with the addition of a vibrant Dior tote bag and my fave Chanel flats. Sometimes all it takes is the addition of a few key accessories to completely change the vibe of an outfit.

Credits: Top, Viktoria and Woods; Jeans, Slvrlake; Shoes, Chanel; Bag (similar here), Dior

Aussie brand Venroy does the most beautiful linen pieces and everything the sell is so soft and comfortable. I loved the cut and colour of this playsuit and have found it to be a fun wardrobe addition. I’ve been a huge fan of the Proenza Schouler collab with Birkenstock and immediately knew I needed these sandals. I like the fact they’re slightly dressier than a regular pair of Birkenstocks given they’re patent leather plus the ivory/off white shade of these shoes makes them really easy to pair with a number of different outfits. I can also walk miles in them as they’re so unbelievably comfortable. I have this Sparrows Weave basket bag from a few seasons back and I still find it to be such a great shape and style to pair with a summer look. Another collab I’m also loving is the one Bec & Bridge have done with the sunglasses brand, Pared. The shape of these sunnies is great, plus it comes in a range of different colours.

Credits: Playsuit (similar here), Venroy; Shoes, Proenza Schouler x Birkenstock; Sunglasses, Bec & Bridge x Pared; Bag (similar here), Sparrows Weave

White jeans are so fresh and look great in summer. It’s a good way to do jeans but in a more seasonal way. I’ve worn jeans by the brand Slvrlake before and really rate the cut and feel so these jeans were a no-brainer to snap up. I wanted to pair them with a coloured Good American top to liven up this look a little bit more, plus I like the contrast it provides. I added my trusty Birkenstocks for the perfect footwear option for a day of running around, but without compromising on style.

Credits: Top, Good American; Jeans, Slvrlake; Shoes, Proenza Schouler x Birkenstock

I’ve spoken in the past how I love co-ord sets as you can wear the pieces separately or together, and this top is one such example of that. It’s part of a set that I’ve worn on the blog before, and it works great on its own too. These are the Levi’s jeans I get DMs about constantly and they’re still going strong! If you’re looking for skinny jeans that kinda have the look of an on trend straight leg style I highly recommend these. A new addition to my summer wardrobe are these gold sandals and they’ve proven themselves to be super versatile. They can be worn with jeans, dresses, shorts and skirts so I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of them. To finish of this look, I wanted to add another pop of colour so my Dior tote made another appearance.

Fashion, What I Wore

What I wore this week

27th May, 2021

It’s always fun to get to play around with a few new pieces in a wardrobe rotation and this week it’s all about some fun winter purchases. I always map out what I’m going to splurge on at the start of a new season and so far, the pieces I have have been seamlessly able to work into my regular outfit repertoire. I think that’s always the sign of a good purchase! From double denim one minute to splashes of Barbie pink the next, here’s what I wore this week.

Sometimes a look is cemented on the colour alone, and that was certainly the case with this Aje suit. I was off to lunch in this number, and it certainly perked me up — how could it not with that playful made-for-Barbie pink? Also I think this is further proof that a suit doesn’t have to be exclusively the domain of classic neutrals. You can definitely afford to have a little fun with it.

Credits: Jacket and pants, Aje; Shoes, Bottega Veneta; Bag, Bulgari

With my little sidekick here, and rocking our shades of pink. I love the soft baby pink hue of this jumper as it’s so easy to match with virtually everything in my wardrobe. I paired it with some trusty denim and sneakers and I was ready to tackle my day with Grace.

Credits: Jumper, Les Coyotes De Paris; Jeans, Slvrlake; Sneakers, D.O.F

Some people love it, some people hate it but I’m the first to admit that I’m quite partial to a Canadian tuxedo. This double denim look is all Camilla and Marc, and both work really well together, but also separately. I’ve been able to work these two pieces in so many different ways, which is always a big tick in my book.

Credits: Denim jacket and jeans (similar here), Camilla and Marc; T-shirt, Ducie; Sneakers, D.O.F; Earrings, Manning Cartell

My go-to uniform: a white tee and jeans. It always works without fail and I know I can rely on it on those days when I just want a no-fuss look that still looks stylish. I added a touch of colour with the emerald green Dior bag (which FYI is such a great size as it pretty much fits my entire life comfortably) and my fave sandals. I love when a look just comes together like this.
