It starts to become abundantly clear in the lead up to summer what particular silhouette is going to be big. This season, it’s all about the muscle tee. The padded muscle tee to be exact. This t-shirt style has been given a strong update with the addition of padded shoulders (I’m obsessed with this style). There’s something about the addition of a little padding working back with a nipped in bottom such as a pair of high waisted jeans that makes for a really strong look.
There are no doubt going to be a few iterations of this top come summer so when you’re shopping for one be sure to firstly try it on if you can. There are some styles with a hefty amount of shoulder padding which doesn’t suit everyone so it’s key to see what it looks like first. Also it’s better if the padding isn’t super visible. This can sometimes occur when the material is slightly thinner and the padding hasn’t been sewed in securely and this can make the shoulder pads quite obvious. Other than that, don’t be afraid to jump aboard this trend.
