Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Botanica

10th January, 2023

Dresses are one of the easiest summer outfits I can think of (actually, make that year round) as it reduces the amount of styling you need to do down to a few key accessories. This forest green dress with botanical print by Husk, is the ideal dress for this time of year as it can be dressed up or down. I went for a dressier vibe in this instance, and could easily wear this out to dinner or to an event, but a simple switch in shoes and bag to something slightly more casual makes it perfect for heading out to lunch or just a day out in the sun. One thing that always gets a tick from me is versatility, and the halter tie on this dress is detachable so it can also be worn as a strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline. A win-win in my books. The print and green hue also give it a slightly more elegant feel which broadens the settings and occasions it can be worn.

Finishing off this look came down to a few key accessories, and in this instance it was mostly about my bag and shoes. I went for a classic quilted bag by Dior, which I’ve had in my closet for years and still wear to this day. Its diminutive size, textured finish and chain strap makes it a sophisticated option for daytime, and the perfect transition piece into the evening. I wanted to keep things in the same colour palette so my go-to Bottega Veneta heels made for the ideal shoe choice. I never leave home without a pair of sunglasses, and these black frames from the Bec & Bridge x Pared collab added the perfect finishing touch.
