Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Summer Knits

26th October, 2021

I’ve spoken about skirt and top sets in the past and I can definitely say that I’m still very much into them. What’s even better is that a set such as this is lightweight enough that it can also work in summer. Plus they’re a great outfit shortcut on those days where I want to look polished but don’t really have time to fuss around with an outfit. I think there’s always something quite sleek and put together with a matching set. The ribbed knit finish adds an elevated touch, yet it’s still unbelievably comfortable which ticks both boxes. I also love the versatility of a set like this. The tank could easily be worn with jeans for a look that’s right on trend, whilst the skirt would work well with a t-shirt or even a knotted button down white shirt. If something can work multiple ways it definitely gets my tick of approval. Let’s also talk the beautiful pastel yellow colour. It’s the perfect shade for this time of year and is surprisingly quite easy to mix and match with a variety of different accessories.

I wanted to let the colour of the top and skirt to shine through so I opted for accessories that had a fun element to them but didn’t overpower the rest of my outfit. Meeting that criteria is definitely my slingback Chanel flats. The monochrome colour palette means it works with virtually any hue, and the signature two-tone gives it a point of difference (as a side note, I do not regret investing in these shoes one bit as I have worn them so much—more so than other shoes I have in my closet that may have been a bit cheaper, but definitely don’t get as much wear). For the final flourish, I couldn’t go past these pearl statement earrings by Shashi. They’re playful and add a interesting feature to the rest of my look.
