Chanel two-tone slingbacks: Are they worth it?

25th September, 2023

As far as investment pieces go I don’t think you can ever really go wrong with Chanel. Whether it’s shoes or bags, clothes or accessories, those interlocking Cs always guarantee a classic piece with polish. My two favourite things! Over the years, I’ve invested in a few different things from Chanel and they’ve stood the test of time. Also, I’m still happy about my purchases, which I think is always a sign of a worthwhile investment piece.

One of the things I’ve invested in are the classic Chanel slingbacks, both the heel and flat version. I’ve got them in the iconic beige/nude with black cap toe style as not only are they a versatile combination, but I like that they’re a signature colour combination for the brand. I’ve had both for a few years now and they’re still going strong. I’ve worn them to so many occasions and they’re always a shoe I pack on trips because they’re ultra wearable, comfortable and able to be dressed up or down.

If you’re looking to invest in a pair, here are my honest thoughts on them, and if they’re ultimately worth the price tag.

Do they run true to size?

I get my usual size, so yes they run true to size.

How versatile is it?

So versatile. I have them in flats and in a low heel. They can really dress up an outfit.

Which colour is the most versatile?

I have the nude and black and have found them to be really versatile. I can wear them with pretty much everything in my closet. However I wish I had them in more colours.

Are they comfortable?

Yes, I can definitely wear them all day on my feet. (This is so important for me as far as shoes go).

What is the wear and tear like?

I wear mine a lot and I feel like the nude can get damaged quite easily with water stains etc so I wish they were a bit more durable. The darker colours might be better for wear and tear.

Would you buy them again?

Yes! I want them in more colours – it’s just hard deciding which colour combination to get as there are so many.
