What’s on my shopping wish list

15th February, 2019

I’m making the most of the last month of summer with most of my shopping list this month focused on easy breezy accessories and staples with a sophisticated touch. However I’ve also been embracing a few trendy buys including a fun fluoro bag, a shell headband that’s perfect for this time of year and beige tones which are set to be huge in the coming months. So if you’re in the mood to spoil yourself with a new buy, here are a few things that may inspire you…

Loewe medium leather-trimmed raffia tote

I’ve seen this tote pop up on a few Instagram posts and love its classic yet laidback vibe.

Gucci embellished silk wool blend skirt

This dreamy skirt is perfect no matter the time of year but crisp white and gold really does lend itself to a warm summer day.

Chloe Poppy octagon wire frame sunglasses

I love sunnies that are a little bit quirky and different and the octagon shape of this Chloe pair give them a point of difference to others in my collection.

Self Portrait asymmetric ruffled skirt

If you’ve yet to embrace beige tones prepare yourself because you’ll be seeing the colour everywhere. I love the playful meets classic vibe of this skirt.

Cult Gaia Alia perspex and leather mules

The interesting heel and shape of these mules caught my eye. I definitely like to intersperse my shoe collection with pieces that are a little unique.

Hunza G seersucker swimsuit

I’ve mentioned how much I rate this brand previously so you won’t be surprised that I immediately knew I had to have this particular one piece. It’s the kind of style that I know I’ll have for plenty of summers to come.

Prada macrame and leather bucket bag

A touch of metallic never goes astray. This bag is all kinds of fun and a definite talking piece.

Cult Gaia Sylvie linen and rattan belt

I’ve been trying to expand my belt collection of late and this style is ideal for glamming up a look.

Jacquemus Olbia leather slingback sandals

These heels tick the versatility box with their neutral colour but the shape and finishing details make them stand out in a crowd.

Maison Michel grosgrain hair tie

If you’ve yet to embrace the humble hair bow then you’d better jump on board cause they’re going to be huge. This particular style would work with so many different outfits.

Amber Sceats Sahara earrings

You can never go wrong with statement earrings, especially when they’re such a great style and shape.

Rejina Pyo crinkled satin shoulder bag

This is a bit of a departure from the bags I usually go for but I couldn’t resist the interesting shape and texture and the standout colour.

Lelet NY shell headband

Headbands are always such an easy way to lift an outfit. I especially love the shell detail on this particular piece.

South Beach round straw beach bag

I’ve been loving natural textures when it comes to bags, and this particular piece would get quite the work out over the coming weeks.

Amber Sceats Cordelia earrings

I’m making the most of the shell trend whilst it’s still here and love this cute pair for adding a little nautical element to an ensemble.

7th December, 2018

What a hectic year it has been! The last 12 months have seen me fall in love with a lot of gorgeous pieces, and no doubt there will be more to come in 2019. In the midst of shopping for Christmas, prepping for a family holiday and a manic schedule over the last few weeks, it’s been quite relaxing being able to scroll through my favourite online stores when I have a spare minute to admire all the newest trends and latest drops of the season. With the summer months stretching ahead, my mind’s been on light, breezy pieces that can easily take me from the festive season into a brand new year. This month I’ve been all about mini dresses, animal prints and wearable skirts that have presence. Thanks for coming along on my virtual shopping trips with me in 2018—looking forward to doing it all again next year!

Zimmermann corsage print pom pom mini dress

Love a printed dress for summer especially when it’s by one of my fave Aussie brands.

Zimmermann Swiss dot tulle mini skirt

The great mix of textures and shape of this skirt make it a definite summer staple.

Adriana Degreas polka dot silk crepe de chine blouse

I can envisage this being worn to many a summer event and it adds a nice subtle pop of colour to a neutral look.

Illesteva Seattle round-frame tortoiseshell sunglasses

You can’t go wrong with tortoiseshell glasses. Ever.

Saint Laurent printed silk de chine mini dress

Another great summer dress with a bold colour that’s ideal for events.

Eugenia Kim Sunny faux-raffia sun hat

A great sun hat is never far from my reach. This is made for days at the beach.

Balmain fringed tweed mini skirt

My work wardrobe is already being planned as we speak and I think this skirt has the right balance of classic with just a hint of fun.

Raey silk-satin slip skirt

It’s a simple skirt, but this little number will get quite the workout over the next few months.

Miu Miu leopard print silk blouse

I can’t resist a hit of animal print, especially when it comes in the form of such a gorgeous, wearable blouse.

Prada canvas and straw woven bucket bag

I like this bag’s summery feel—it’s great for warm, balmy days enjoying the sunshine.

Fendi logo knit top

A bit of logo action is always a good thing. Love this classic Fendi look.

Johanna Ortiz grassland open back swimsuit

Hunting around for the perfect new swimsuit at the moment and gravitating towards printed one pieces like this.

Cult Gaia Luna crossbody bag

A fun take on the crossbody bag trend. This will add a touch of colour to any outfit.

ASOS Design Tiana premium leather sandals

Animal prints are great, especially when they come with such an affordable price tag.

Boohoo velvet block heels in dusky pink

The gorgeous dusky pink tone of these heels make it the perfect feminine addition to an ensemble.

What’s on my shopping wish list this month

9th November, 2018

It’s been a hectic time with the Melbourne Cup Carnival but that doesn’t mean I haven’t had time to squeeze in a bit of window shopping. My wish list is always a work in progress and I’m always finding things to update it — and it’s not hard as there are just so many amazing pieces around right now. This month I’m all about bold shades, interesting finishes and unique pieces that will take my outfits next-level.

Calvin Klein pleated midi skirt

I’m a huge fan of statement skirts and the colours and the pattern of this particular Calvin Klein piece would make it the ideal anchor piece for so many looks in my wardrobe.

Fendi leather bucket bag

Fashion’s experiencing a bit of logomania at the moment and this bucket bag is the ideal way to dip into the trend.

Saint Laurent Lily cat-eye sunglasses

My love of great sunnies continues and this tortoiseshell pair are a definite classic that I know I’ll wear for seasons to come.

Marques’Almeida belted mini dress

Warmer weather calls for shades that pop and I think this dress is fresh and fun. Great for the upcoming party season.

Chanel vintage watch

I have a thing for beautiful timepieces and this watch, in classic Chanel colours would make a welcome addition to my collection.

Malone Souliers by Roy Luwolt Maisie mules

Updating your shoe wardrobe this season is as easy as buying a pair of statement mules. Love the polka dot print and oversized buckle on this pair.

Ksubi Chlo Wasted high waisted cropped jeans

I love the cut and shape of these jeans — definitely a pair I can see myself in for off duty wear and also smart casual occasions.

Blazé Milano printed silk blazer

You can never go wrong with a blazer, especially in a monochrome. The print on this is just the thing to take a plain outfit up a notch.

Wandler Hortensia mini leather shoulder bag

I love a mini bag, especially when it’s in such a fresh shade.

Rosantica gold-tone crystal bracelet

Just in time for the festive season is this little beauty. It would make the ideal statement piece to elevate an event outfit.

Ganni ruffled sequin camisole

The killer combination of ruffles and sequins has me seeing this making its way onto the dance floor at many a Christmas party.

Juicy Couture logo sneaker

A simple, casual shoe that would be ideal for the weekend.

Missguided wide leg leopard print pant

I’m in the fashion camp that considers animal print to be a neutral so I’m definitely sold on these pants.

ASOS Design tiered maxi dress

The tiered effect and print make this a great go-to for enjoying long summer days.

Zimmermann Castile crochet top

Another gorgeous piece by one of my favourite Aussie designers. I love the romantic Victorian feel of this blouse. It would be a match made in heaven with my fave pair of jeans.

What’s on my shopping wish list this month

12th October, 2018

I’ve been so busy prepping looks for spring racing season that it was nice to be able to revisit my regular day-to-day wardrobe to see what beautiful new additions I could make to it. The cold weather has been stubbornly hanging on in Sydney so I’ve not been able to enjoy many spring looks at the moment, but it has directed my shopping pursuits towards some fun trans-seasonal pieces. From a great new LBD, to embellished black flats and a sequinned bustier that’s just made for a big event, this is what’s caught my eye this month.

Miu Miu crystal embellished patent leather flats

A cute pair of black flats is always a welcome addition to any wardrobe, especially when it comes with just a sprinkling of bling.

Roland Mouret caron ruffled chevron top

A great layering piece, with bold chevron detail, I could see this getting plenty of outings.

Elie Saab tiered lace and Swiss dot tulle midi skirt

I’m all about a great midi skirt and this one is a beauty—the colour, the textured Swiss dot tulle and the beautiful layers all work together to make a great piece for work or play.

Mansur Gavriel circle leather shoulder bag

Structured bags have really caught my eye of late. I like the classic, old school vibe of this bag whilst the shoulder strap makes it super practical.

Staud satin-trimmed crepe midi dress

I’ve been on the hunt for a new LBD so I was really excited to stumble upon this number. Love the satin finish and detail at the bust.

Maria Lucia Hohan sequinned peplum bustier top

This is a sequinned showstopper. Love the colour, the asymmetric drape effect and the sweetheart neckline. Plenty of ticks all round.

Valentino crystal hoop earrings

These are a gorgeous take on traditional hoops. Dotted with colourful crystals, it’s the kind of accessory that will elevate any look.

Nobody Denim Bessette Jean In-Love

I’ve been looking for a new pair of jeans and I love the simple silhouette and wash of this pair.

Balenciaga BB printed t-shirt

The cherry red colour of this Balenciaga t-shirt makes it a fun addition to any outfit.

Tabitha Simmons check wool mules

I love the checked pattern of these mules—they are a point of difference that turns this particular shoe into a statement piece.

Ulla Johnson Vienne short dress

I’m quite partial to long sleeved dresses, especially when they feature such a great print. This will be a trans-seasonal weather saviour.

Brock Collection gathered velvet blouse

There’s something about a hit of luxe texture to any outfit that can instantly lift it. I could see this top working back with so many pieces in my closet from casual denim to dressy slacks.

What’s on my shopping wish list this month

7th September, 2018

The past few weeks have been hectic with lots of events and work commitments, but having several things to attend has given me the perfect excuse to do a little shopping. I’ve been busy click up a storm online trying to find outfits and accessories and in the process have managed to accumulate quite a lengthy list of things I really want to buy. It’s still funny weather in Sydney in that we haven’t officially hit spring’s warmer temperatures and are still being met with a few chilly days, so I’m finding myself half searching for things to add to my spring/summer wardrobe, and half searching for things I can cosy up in right now. Looking at what I’ve bookmarked I’m gravitating towards structured, preppy pieces and accessories that have a fun twist and also a killer Zimmermann dress that’s just too beautiful for words. Without further ado here’s what’s turned my head this month.

George Keburia cat-eye acetate sunglasses

Small sunglasses are still here and I’m really into this pair’s slightly futuristic feel.

Zimmermann cut-out floral print dress

Multiple floral prints, the subtle cut-out detail and the dramatic puff sleeves are all winning elements of this dress. Another beauty by Zimmermann.

Dolce & Gabbana gold-tone, resin and crystal earrings

The adorable strawberries drew me to these earrings and the tiny flowers sold me on them.

Balenciaga gingham wool trousers

I’m planning to channel my inner Audrey Hepburn with these trousers. They’d pair well with a cropped knit for winter and a light button down or slip for summer.

Christian Louboutin Iriza Loubi In The Sky 100 jacquard pumps

A girl can never have enough statement heels, especially when they feature that iconic red sole.

Staud Claudia cropped cut-out sweater

I was imagining that this sweater would work well with the gingham trousers, but it would also be great with a pair of jeans or a cute skirt.

De La Vali Sake satin top

A great monochrome piece that I could see becoming a welcome addition to my evening wardrobe.

Amina Muaddi patchwork mules

I like the contrasting patterns on these shoes and think they would work well with a great pair of jeans.

Shrimps beaded box bag

The candy colour and the beading make this a fun little bag to lift any outfit.

T by Alexander Wang cropped jumper

The cropped style makes this a great sweater to pair back with a high waisted silhouette and the earthy burnt ochre tone makes it a statement piece.

Bershka striped heavy knitted jersey jumper

I remember when we were told that red and pink should never go together… now it’s clearly a match made in heaven. This is a great option for those days when I just want to be warm and cosy.

Tommy Hilfiger Laurie leather watch

In keeping with my love of all things pink at the moment, this Tommy Hilfiger watch is definitely one timepiece that can work back with plenty of looks.

What’s on my shopping wish list this month

6th July, 2018

I can’t believe we’re already halfway through the year! Being in the midst of winter but seeing all the amazing looks coming from the Northern Hemisphere has me turning my attention to more lightweight looks for spring/summer. I know we’ve still got a few weeks of cooler temperatures ahead of us but I’ve always liked to plan ahead as far as seasons go so I know exactly what I’ll be shopping for when the weather starts to get a little warmer.

This month, I’m still keeping an eye out for staples such as ankle boots and jackets, but I’m also embracing my new love of classic pieces with a twist. Think a beautiful long sleeved double breasted dress which takes a traditional blazer in a new direction to a crisp white mini with gold accents that elevates a pencil skirt silhouette into a glam statement piece.

Here’s what’s made it onto my wish list this month…

Maggie Marilyn twill mini dress

I’ve shared my love of blazers in the past so it’s no surprise that this dress with its jacket style cut caught me eye. It has taken a traditional wardrobe staple and given it a feminine touch.

Marco de Vincenzo striped top

Love the colours of this cosy knit top. It’s also a great layering piece which will definitely extend its wear in my closet.

Taylor equipped jacket

With a futuristic feel, this little number would add a little edge to a look.

Balmain button-detailed woven mini skirt

Super luxe and chic, this skirt is versatile yet a little extra. The gold accents just elevate it even more.

Mercedes Castillo Norik leather mules

A bright pop of colour adds an element of vibrancy and fun to any look and these mules are a great place to start.

Kaleos Lord acetate sunglasses

It’s hard to go wrong with tortoiseshell sunnies. This pair would definitely see me through spring/summer nicely.

Gucci faux pearl embellished belt

I’ve got a belt like this in black and swear by its wearability. I think white will be ideal for when the weather starts getting warmer.

Saint Laurent crocodile embossed sunset bag

The perfect shade of hot pink that can’t be passed up! This would make any outfit pop.

Rebecca Vallance Bresica ruched poplin midi skirt

I’m into all things midi length and this skirt with its colour and ruching would work well paired with heels or a killer pair of sandals.

Bec & Bridge strappy cherry midi dress

The slip dress works all year round so it’s a worthwhile investment to make any time. Layer it with a tee or knit or wear it on its own, it works equally as well.

Miu Miu Matelassé belt bag

Loving the hands-free element of a belt bag. The colour and shape is classic and can easily be paired with multiple looks.

Balenciaga tartan BB ankle boots

A definite winter item, these boots in an adorable tartan print will be the dress up any ensemble and give it a bit of punch.

What’s on my shopping wish list this month

11th May, 2018

I spent the early part of this month prepping my wardrobe for Fashion Week which has been quite dangerous for my bank balance! I’ve come across so many incredible things in the process and there have been some musts that I’d love to add to my autumn/winter wardrobe. This month I’ve been gravitating towards modern takes on suiting, 70s style details, bright pops of colour and a gold bag that’s really to die for…

Rosetta Getty off the shoulder stretch top

The bell sleeves and off the shoulder style combination is always a winning pairing.

Gucci Linea X printed metallic leather shoulder bag

A touch of luxe by non other than Gucci. Love the throwback Sega font on this!

Christian Louboutin floral flatform sandals

This caught my eye as it was almost like a tropical holiday in shoe form! When the weather is a bit dismal outside this is a great way to add some pep to an outfit.

Paul Andrew Stella slingback leather pumps

Sleek, understated and the perfect versatile shoe.

Paul & Joe Sister tassel shoe

I love a lace up Oxford shoe but this pair is taken in a playful direction with the colourful tassels.

Oscar de la Renta Rivoli stone earrings

A bright ruby red statement earring makes for the perfect finishing accessory.

Ellery Jacuzzi check trousers

How fun are these pants? Bell bottoms in a checked print marry classic and 70s styling.

MSGM floral cotton print shirt dress

The blouson sleeve and gold collar give this shirt dress a sweetly feminine touch. What I really love? The adorable print.

Dion Lee Mirror lapel dress

I like that this references a traditional suit jacket but with the one shoulder detail gives it an unexpected finish.

My shopping wish list: autumn essentials

30th March, 2018

Planning a few wardrobe purchases that will see me through this trans-seasonal weather is tricky at times. I’m constantly asking myself is it a good cost-per-wear purchase? Is it appropriate for the is-it-or-isn’t-it-cold temperatures? However it’s also been fun to start planning for the cooler months to come. I love the general polished vibe of autumn/winter fashion, and I can’t pass up a great statement coat. For the meantime however I’m all about finding great long-sleeved tops, dresses that are ideal for layering and stylish tailored pants that I can get easily dress up or down according to the day ahead.

Sam Edelman Loraine loafers

A great pair of loafers is a must (I seriously wear them most days). A fun printed pair is great for livening up an outfit.

Altuzarra Audrey button-detailed ottoman midi dress

This feminine take on traditional suiting is such a great option for autumn as it can easily be paired with a great jacket or worn on its own. I love the pinstripe—a great option for a work event.

Magda Butrym Noto open-back polka dot blouse

Who else loves a high Victorian collar on a shirt? That’s a definite highlight for me when it comes to this top but I can’t get past the open back with statement bow—just beautiful.

Mansur Gavriel Volume cotton-canvas mini clutch

The adorable gingham print really makes this clutch. The additional chain also means I can easily go hands-free when I need to which is a major tick in the right box.

Off-White cropped floral print blouse

The punchy colours of this blouse would make a great bold touch to any look.

Castaner Carina canvas wedge espadrilles

The resort wear vibe of these shoes would give me a holiday feeling every time I wore them.

Zimmermann radiate slouch trousers

I love a wide leg pant. There’s just something about them that always screams polished. The relaxed linen and beautiful belt is understated elegance at its best.

Gucci crystal embellished GG clip on earrings

I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a pair of statement earrings. I think this would make a great finishing touch to any look.

Rianna + Nina vintage patchwork scarf print silk dress

The beautiful colour palette and clashing patterns gives this dress an impactful touch.

Saint Laurent new wave cat eye sunglasses

The vintage, old school Hollywood feel of these glasses make for the kind of accessory that can really make an ensemble and give it a bit of attitude.

Mossman The strike back midi dress

I could see this dress working for many a function. But with a quick change of footwear, it can easily be dressed down for my off duty wardrobe.

Alice McCall Got me So Good top

Interesting necklines are huge at the moment and I particularly love the off-the-shoulder/halter hybrid of this piece.

Tell me—what’s on your shopping list at the moment?

My shopping wishlist: What I’ve got my eye on this month

2nd March, 2018

Welcome to autumn! We’re now officially in the land of trans-seasonal dressing where walking out the door requires having to deal with the fact it could go from warm one minute to cold the next. And for me this means strategically adding a few key items into my wardrobe such as lightweight knits and comfortable closed toe flats to ease my sadness at having to put my dresses and sandals into hibernation for a few months (that said, a pair of ah-mazing velvet heels may have caught my eye this month).

Whilst I’m a little sad to farewell summer the change in season has got me in the mood to plan my autumn/winter wardrobe and the new additions I’ll be making to it. Any excuse for a bout of shopping, right? I’m currently refreshing my mind about what I already have in my closet so I know what might need replacing and what on-trend pieces I can add. In the process I’ve managed to find a few things that I’d love to add to my autumn wardrobe. Below is a snapshot of what’s on my radar.

Have you started planning your autumn/winter looks? I’d love to hear what you’ve got on your wishlist right now.
Gucci Jordaan gingham loafers

If the frequency at which I wear my Gucci loafer slides is anything to go by a new pair would definitely get plenty of use. The shape of these is so flattering and they’re comfy too. The poppy gingham print is the perfect colourful touch to what will be an endless stream of moody, neutral shades over the next few months.

Chloe Poppy heart-framed shaped glasses

These Lolita-esque sunglasses are an adorable shape that will add a playful finishing touch to any look. Accessories are one way to really liven up a look during the cooler months.

Alexander McQueen skull and floral print scarf

I’m a big fan of scarves as they’re so easy to throw on when the weather is still slightly unpredictable. I love the colour of this, and the signature McQueen skull print.

Muun Louise wood handle bucket bag

I really like the chic, minimalist feel of this. The element of natural texture with the wooden handle is a great contrast to the all white, contemporary feel of the rest of the bag.

Oscar de la Renta tasseled beaded silk clip earrings

My obsession with statement earrings is still going strong. The colour and tassels really make this quite the striking piece.

Miu Miu ruffled printed crepe wrap skirt

Great print, great colour and a flattering wrap skirt style make this the ideal piece for dressing up a look during the week or elevating an off duty outfit.

Miu Miu Miu Lady embellished raffia and textured shoulder bag

So much to love about this bag. Only Miu Miu could get away with combining raffia, crystals and gold in the one bag and not have it look like a crazy mess but a picture of perfection.

Alexandre Birman Jessica bow-embellished velvet sandals

Autumn/winter is the perfect time to embrace luxe textures such as velvet. The colour of this would really make an outfit pop.

Johanna Ortiz Toluca cropped bow-embellished striped linen top

I would layer this under a jacket and pair it with a high waisted skirt or pant. The bow is a sweet finishing touch.

Alexander McQueen high rise ruffled detailed tiered embellished skirt

This is a dream piece but I couldn’t go past the confection of frills. It’s what statement skirt dreams are made of.
