Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Chain Reaction

17th November, 2020

The quickly approaching end of year vibe has me thinking of Christmas catch-ups and parties, and this Manning Cartell dress has already been bookmarked for an event or two. While it’s a fun LBD option, what I love about it is the detail that elevates it into something more. The chain straps are bold and give the dress a striking finish. While the raffia finish on the fabric gives it some depth and texture. Additionally, the chain straps are adjustable and also removable so this dress can be reworked into a strapless number too. Big ticks in the versatility box, particularly when the festive season often calls for an event outfit or two.

While this dress is most certainly able to be dressed up for going out, what I love is that I can easily turn it into day attire with a change in accessories. In this instance I opted for black Ducie sandals to ground the look and give it a more casual feel. While I opted to pair it with the cutest mini Gucci Jackie bag. This classic style from the Gucci archives has been reimagined and given a more contemporary feel. I love a bag that does double duty, and I like the fact this has a detachable strap, but can also be worn without it. To finish off this ensemble, I opted for a matching Manning Cartell chain necklace. The black and gold colour scheme of this look really dials up the glam. I love any excuse to frock up, and this dress gives me plenty of great reasons to do it.
