Fashion, What I Wore

What I Wore: Purple Reign

12th April, 2021

I was hosting a launch for Wanderluxe sleepwear at Sydney’s Chiswick so I wanted to wear something that was bold, bright and fun. So when this colour block look by Acler entered the picture I couldn’t pass it up as it fit all the criteria I was looking for. The colours really make this look. The lavender one shoulder top added a gem-like element to this outfit, while the rust coloured trousers help offset the ultra glam vibe of the top, striking just the right balance. I think this is one of my favourite outfit formulas, a pair of tailored trousers worked back with a dressy top really is a match made in heaven.

When you’re wanting colour to shine, I think accoutrements have to be complementary but not over the top. At the same time, I think events always require a little extra effort in the accessories department. So these looped Manning Cartell earrings added a little statement element to my look but they weren’t too busy so they didn’t overwhelm the rest of my outfit. The black Bottega heels added a fashion forward touch, but they didn’t take away from the look and feel of this ensemble, which was all about embracing the striking effect of colour blocking.
