12 Insta-outfit ideas to steal

5th November, 2018

In the craziness of spring racing of late, I’ve needed to look for a bit of fashion inspo for my  everyday looks. When you’re caught up in a whirlwind of fascinators and Cup Day looks and deciding what look goes with which dress code, it can be easy to forget that yes, your regular wardrobe needs a bit of love too. And now that we’re finally transitioning into warmer weather in Sydney I’ve had to rethink my looks a little. I can finally start moving into dresses and sandals territory and put my jumpers and coats into hibernation. If you’re in the same trans-seasonal boat then you’ve come to the right place, because coming up are style ideas a plenty.

Do a one colour look

Whilst colourful looks are great there’s something impactful about wearing one shade throughout. Look for lighter tones which are softer and easier to work with.

Rock an animal print skirt

You may be familiar with this silk leopard print Realisation Par midi skirt which is everywhere at the moment and for good reason: it’s such a wearable piece. Paired with a simple white tee and sneakers or sandals this will quickly become an outfit go-to over summer. There are plenty of options available of this style so definitely consider adding it to your wardrobe this season.

Do a shorts suit

A suit is definitely one of the key trends right now so try adopting this warm weather take on it. A pair of tailored shorts with a lightweight blazer makes for a polished look that’s also directional.

Cropped jeans with mules

It’s a simple pairing but it’s so good. Team your favourite pair of cropped jeans with a pair of coloured mules and you have a fresh look for summer.

Try a pinstripe blazer

A black blazer is a no-brainer but if you’re looking for a new take on it then consider a navy pinstripe blazer. This take on man-style suiting works brilliantly with jeans and a white tee for a look that’s understated and chic.

Tap into a cream and white colour palette

Summer is all about light and breezy fashion so what better colour combination than white and cream? Linen and a white tee is a dream pairing. Add a pair of white sandals and earthy accessories and you’re ready to roll.

Layer your dresses with a white shirt

A white tee is a great option for wearing under a dress so work off the same principle but sub in a white shirt instead. It looks modern and fresh and is so easy to do with existing pieces in your closet.

It’s an oldie but a goodie because it works. Channel your inner Real Housewife and go for a pair of knockout earrings to instantly elevate an outfit.

Invest in tan sandals or slides

If there’s one thing that will get a decent workout through the warmer months it’s a pair of tan sandals or slides. The colour is so wearable and will work with virtually every outfit in your closet.

Fun print with white sneakers

Don’t put your fave sneakers into winter hibernation. Team them with a printed dress for a look that’s stylish and oh-so easy. A great shortcut on those days when you’re dealing with an ‘I have nothing to wear’ situation.

What trend are you loving right now?
