What’s On My Shopping Wish List

13th March, 2020

A new season calls for a wardrobe refresh and I had a thoroughly great time daydreaming about a few new pieces I want for autumn/winter. This time of year can be tricky simply because it can still go from hot one minute to cold the next so I’m after clothes that can work for varying temperatures. I wanted to play with different textures, including luxe tweed and sleek leather plus standout accessories that will steal the show. Here’s what caught my eye…

Cropped crystal-embellished sequined tweed top, Alessandra Rich

This has a classic feel with the tweed and pearl buttons but the cropped top is thoroughly modern.

Crystal-embellished Sequined Tweed Mini Skirt, Alessandra Rich

I love a matching set of any kind and this worked back with the tweed top is polished and would be perfect for an event.

Cropped crystal-embellished sequined tweed jacket, Alessandra Rich

This jacket is the finishing piece to the skirt and top featured above but it could easily work on its own. I could pair this with jeans and a tee and have a relaxed yet sophisticated look.

Jila Flower PVC Sandals, Cult Gaia

How cool are these sandals with the transparent PVC straps and the flower heel? They’re the perfect statement shoe to finish off an outfit.

Gold-tone Bracelet, Bottega Veneta

I’m often on the look out for bold new jewellery that will be the perfect full stop to an outfit. This bracelet definitely fits the bill. It’s big and bold enough to hold its own but also versatile to work back with myriad looks.

Gold and Silver-tone Earrings, Bottega Veneta

For those who love statement earrings but nothing too over the top, these studs are it. Love the contrasting metals.

The Pouch Large Gathered Leather Clutch, Bottega Veneta

I’ve had my eye on this clutch for the longest time and I think I’ve finally decided on this neutral hue. It’s perfect for the working back with virtually my entire wardrobe so I know it will be on high rotation.

Anagram-logo cat-eye acetate sunglasses, Loewe

I’m always on board with bold, statement sunglasses. This pair by Loewe is striking enough to elevate a look but just the right shade to enable it to work back with several outfits.

GG Marmont Mini Leather Backpack, Gucci

I love a backpack for its practicality but I especially love one that’s such a cool design. I’m all about the shape and also the chain link straps.

Square-neck Cotton-Blend Gingham-Seersucker Dress, Ganni

I often wear dresses in autumn and throw on a jacket whether it be a leather bomber or a denim number when temperatures cool. Once summer hits then it’s always worn on repeat, and I have no doubts this Ganni piece will be just that.

What’s on my shopping wish list

17th January, 2020

The first month of the year always has me wanting to get into wardrobe assessment mode to see what updates I need to make, if any, and also what things are looking tired and need replacing. There’s something quite cathartic about starting with a solid, well-edited closet at the start of each year to help me get back into work mode and ready to start tackling big projects. So, here’s my current wish list. What’s on yours?

Printed Wool-Blend Felt Headband, Fendi

Headbands are one of my go-to forms of headwear because they can work back with so many different looks. Also, it doesn’t require much effort to make it happen unlike other hair accessories which may require a bit more finessing.

Layered Ribbed-Knit Camisole, Dion Lee

This is a great cami because it’s a good layering piece due to its colour, cut and style but it’s also easily able to hold its own when worked back with everything from a skirt to shorts and jeans.

Baye Thong Heel, Tony Bianco

Everything 90s is cool again including the heeled thong. I like the neutral tone of these as I know I’ll be able to wear them with so many different pieces in my wardrobe.

The Pouch Small Gathered Leather Clutch, Bottega Veneta

Everything Bottega Veneta is doing right now is perfection. I love the slouchy look of this clutch which gives it a relaxed feel and the buttery soft leather is a dream.

Flocked Woven Mini Skirt, Fendi

Logomania is still alive and kicking and this skirt by Fendi is a great statement piece, yet the colours make it really wearable and versatile.

Heure H 17.2mm very small gold-plated and textured-leather watch, Hermes

I am always on board when it comes to a beautiful timepiece and this elegant leather watch by Hermes is the kind of thing I can see myself wearing years from now as it’s such a classic design.

Shadow Cropped Ribbed-Knit Top, Dion Lee

Another beautiful layering piece. I also like the fact that I could wear this now but take it into autumn/winter by pairing it with warmer pieces.

Colibri Leather-Trimmed Logo-Print Mesh Slippers, Fendi

There’s something about a soft pink that makes the perfect accent piece for many a look. These slippers are great worn back with pants cropped at the ankle but could easily be worn with a dress.

Presley Ring, Amber Sceats

I tend to favour very simple jewellery and this ring definitely fits the brief. This can be paired with other accessories quite easily making it a great accessory to have in my collection.

Daria, Yuzefi

The unique design of this bag will make it the ideal statement piece to finish off an outfit. The colour and the oversized clasp and chain strap give it a really unique vibe.

What’s on my shopping wish list

11th October, 2019

My shopping wish list this month is a little bit of everything—a mixture of wardrobe staples, interesting accessories and fun pieces in bold colours. I think the combination of styling race day looks and building up my spring/summer wardrobe, along with considering a few new additions for the festive season has taken me in all different directions and I’ve discovered a few beauties along the way.

Double-Breasted Satin-Trimmed Wool-Blend Twill Blazer, Givenchy

I have a soft spot for black blazers and as such I’m always looking out for one to add to my collection. I love this Givenchy blazer for the double breasted cut, the satin lapel and the flattering nipped in waist. A definite winner.

Hexagon-Frame Acetate Sunglasses, Loewe

Sunglasses in interesting, not so common shapes always catch my eye. I love this for the hexagon shape — classic but edgy.

Striped Ribbed-Knit Midi Dress, Kenzo

I can’t look past the fun colours of this knitted dress. Such a great option for spring and perfect to wear with sneakers for casual days but it can easily be dressed up with flats or ankle boots when I want to look a little more dressed up.

Iside Micro Textured-Leather Tote, Valextra

White accessories are perfect as they’re so versatile and can work back with multiple pieces. I love the old school, elegant feel of this style.

Rexy Ruffled Lamé Mini Dress, Maje

This mini dress is a touch disco and a whole lot of fun and I can see us attending many an event together. Such a gorgeous colour too.

Alloy Cropped Ribbed Stretch-Knit Top, The Range

Cropped tops might seem a bit scary to wear on their own but I think they work beautifully with a high waisted pant. You still get all the coverage and the silhouette looks fresh and modern.

Hexagon-frame acetate sunglasses, Loewe

Fashion rule to live by: when you really love something considering getting it in all colours. These sunnies in brown is also amazing.

Crystal-embellished Satin Pumps, Miu Miu

These pumps are a little extra and I love them for it. The crystal embellishments and the pink satin work together to create a little shoe magic.

Cropped Canvas-Trimmed Cotton-Jersey Bustier Top, Dion Lee

A sleek top that certainly makes a statement. This will be a great little addition to my wardrobe as we start to head into party season.

Bernadette Cady and Embroidered Tulle Jumpsuit, Saloni

I’m a huge fan of jumpsuits and this is one has a classic silhouette that is elevated by elegant finishes, particularly the embroidered tulle sleeves.

Furoshiki Mini Leather Tote, The Sant

We tend to have bags that fall into certain families, whether it’s a tote, a clutch or crossbody bag which is why I love this style—it’s so different to the styles we often see. The handles, the structure, the beautiful silhouette…it’s such an interesting piece.

Belissa 100 Feather-Trimmed Suede Sandals, Jimmy Choo

Elegant heels are a must for the festive season and this style, with its feathered trim is all kinds of gorgeous.

Arc Two-Tone Lizard-Effect Leather Tote, Rejina PYO

I’m all for a soft, roomy tote of the buttery leather variety but I can’t go past the sleek silhouette of this particular Rejina Pyo number. It’s just so polished.

Square-Frame Marbled Acetate Sunglasses, Loewe

There’s scope for summer sunglasses to be a little more bold, and a little more fun, and this marbled pair will make the ideal finishing touch to many a warm weather look.

Frayed Linen Hairclip, Lelet, NY

Relaxed linen is made for this time of year and as a hair accessory, it makes for a sweet touch to any ‘do.

Faux Leather Midi Skirt, Stella Mccartney

I often wear leather pieces in black but I’m definitely all for dabbling in a little colour when a vibrant yellow leather skirt like this is involved. It’s the very definition of sunshine!

Carlina Sunglasses, CHLOÉ

It’s time to freshen up my sunglasses collection and what better way to do it than with this pair by Chloe. A great shape and such a fun vibe.

Nile Minaudiere Smooth Calfskin, CHLOÉ

I’ve always really enjoyed this style of bag by Chloe and I especially love the bracelet handle which makes it look like a piece of jewellery.

What’s on my shopping wish list

12th July, 2019

I’ve been shopping around for investment pieces of late so this month’s round up features a few designer buys that I’ve had my eye on. Bags and shoes are usually what I splurge on because of how versatile they are so I’ve been scouring my fave brands such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton for new designs. That said, the rest of my list involves some practical wardrobe updates that I know I’ll wear to death. It’s all about a high-low mix when it comes to my wardrobe.

O!mega Shadow Gel Powder Eyeshadow, Marc Jacobs Beauty

Image via Sephora

My makeup artist Michael Brown used a selection of products from the Marc Jacobs Beauty range on me for Fashion Week and ever since them I’ve been obsessed. This particular shade has such a rich colour and achieves a natural flushed effect.

Boyfriend V Neck, Skin and Threads

Skin and Threads have always been a fave brand for jumpers and I come back to them every winter. Oversized knits are great as they’re comfy and cosy. I like the baggy look of this and the gorgeous pink shade.

Image via Chanel

I can’t go past the classic look of these Chanel pumps. The iconic beige/black combination is a versatile colour pairing and the comfy heel make them great for wearing during busy work days.

Chanel’s Gabrielle Backpack, Chanel

Image via Chanel

I saw the bubblegum pink shade of this bag and immediately fell in love. Even in such a striking colour I don’t think you can ever really go wrong with a Chanel bag — it’ll hold up well and have longevity, not to mention the bucket style is a classic.

U Crew Neck short Sleeve T-Shirt, Uniqlo

Image via Uniqlo

These white t-shirts are a new fave of mine. I’ve actually been wanting to stock up on them because they’re just the right shape, they’re a really thick fabric and they don’t look worn just after a few washes.

Mom Jean, Levi’s

Images via Revolve

Can’t get enough of “mom” jeans. I like the slightly relaxed fit and they work really well with a tee, sneakers and a cute coat.

Black Belt Bag, TDE

Image via TDE

If you’re like me and are a fan of going handsfree when it comes to your bags then this is a great, affordable option by The Daily Edited. And I’m always on board with any kind of monogramming.

Bare Leather Sandals, The Row

The only difficult thing when it comes to these shoes is deciding which colour to get. I like the rust tone of this pair and its minimalist style makes it extremely versatile.

What’s on my shopping wish list

11th January, 2019

It’s always refreshing to compile my wish list at the start of each year. I’ve done my big wardrobe purge, have scoped out all my fave stores having just emerged from Christmas shopping and checking out the sales and I’m in the right mood for a big style update. So what’s caught my eye this month?

Mimco Acid Dream drop earrings

I’m trying to dabble with a few more bold accessories this year, most especially statement earrings. I love this style for the colours and sleek shape.

Rebecca Minkoff Bree Circle bag

A classic neutral bag that’s made a little more interesting by its circle shape. This is a good one for weekends when I just need to go hands-free as I am busy running errands.

Isabel Marant gold-tone earrings

Another beauty that I’d really love to add to my collection. These have a great silhouette and hammered finish.

Helen Kaminski raffia visor

Linen in summer is always a winner and these shorts with their printed finish and bold colour are just the thing to elevate my wardrobe.

I’ve always liked the look of wide leg pants especially, especially in such a beautiful lightweight chambray. These would be perfect for dressing up or down.

Ginger & Smart anchor peplum top

With its simple silhouette, this top is ideal for refreshing my work wardrobe.

Camilla and Marc Bronte top

I don’t wear much brown but I have to say, this crop top with its crossover neckline and ruching is perfect for pairing with everything from shorts to skirts and pants.
